These landscapes painting are by artist Lisa Nolan of the landscape around Learmonth.
Thank you to Gemma for the invitation to view these lovely paintings.

Water Tank Art, Deniliquin.
The beautiful Kookaburras stand proudly in the park.
Best seen in the first part of the day an the sun would be behind you.
The area around the tank have play ground, undercover tables, seats, BBQ and toilets.

We had a very short overnight trip to Edward River Campground between Mathoura and Deniliquin.
This is a beautiful area on the banks of the Edward River.
You need to book this free camping area, but there is a $6 booking fee.
The campground was very clean with a great drop toilet BBQ in the picnic area with the great metal art works, reflecting the activities and industries of the area.
We were lucky with the weather, with no wind overnight until mid morning.
Looking forward to returning and spending sometime in this area to explore it properly.

After a great night at Skninners Flat we stopped at Wedderburn and checked our the building painted with beautiful birds.
We then headed to Echuca.
Heading along one of the tracks along the Murray River north off Echuca we found the Paddle Steamer Emmylou docked.
We then found an amazing spot on the banks of the Murray River.
The weather turned it on and we had a relaxing afternoon in the warmth, enjoyed a campfire under the stars drinking Port.
Could have stayed long but some people need to work.
At least we got away and made memories.

We spent some time in the beautiful Gippsland Lakes over the Christmas/New Year break.
We enjoyed amazing sunsets, awesome weather, fireworks and fun times with great friends.
We stayed at Duck Arm, Nicholson, Box’s Creek, Point Montague on Raymond Island.
We visited Lakes Entrance, Metung, Paynesville, Barrier Landing and much more.

On the way south we stopped at the Eumundi Market on the Sunshine Coast.
While in the Sunshine Coast area we picked up a couple of new passengers, a pair of Indian Ringneck parrots (the yellow one is the female and very tame and the blue one the male, not so tame but can be handled).
We then moved on to the Gold Coast and slowed right down not doing much just enjoying the warmth.
We moved further south catching up with some of our boat club friends at Nelson Bay and then onto Goulburn catching up with other friends from the boat club who’s car had broken down and waiting to fine out what is wrong (looks it maybe a day or so before they will find out).

We went as far as north as Yappoon, this was just a day trip/ recon for future adventures.
It was very overcast and windy, but with fine weather it would be a fantastic location and would have to bring the boat to explore the islands of the Great Barrier Reef just if the coast.
We camped at a free road stop camp at Benaraby public campground, we had a lovely sunset that night.
The following day we made our way back to Gympie and stayed at Six Mile Creek Rest Area another free camp ground.

We moved onto Seventeen Seventy and has a look around, we will mark this as a spot to come back to and explore in more depth.
We then found our way to Gladstone, we checked out the waterfront with many beautiful parks and public spaces. Gladstone's primary industries are mining-related.
The coal trains that come into port are long with many carriages.
We came across HMS Gladstone which has pride of place on the waterfront. They do tours of her but we will keep this for next time.
We camped at the Showgrounds and had a storm roll in, this was the first time that we have use any of of the awning walls and we were very happy with the protection they provided and the relative ease to put them up even in fairly strong wind and rocky ground.

Our next stop was the Bundaberg region. We based ourselves at Bargara a nice coastal town east of Bundaberg and spent a number of days exploring.
This included of course the Bundaberg Rum Distillery, Obana Cider House and Tropical Winery, Macadamias Australian, Kalki Moon Distilling Company, Alexandra Park Zoo, Port of Bundaberg, Burnett Heads, Elliott Heads and more.
We also caught up with some friends who have moved to the area and had a fantastic evening, thank you for have us Lisa and Darren.
There was still much more to see but that will have to wait until next time, need a reason to return.

We had a look around the Hervey Bay area.
Checking out the Matthew Flinders lookout, Dayman Point, Urangan Pier Markets and on the the Urangan Pier.
I walk the 880mts of the pier which used to be 1124mts long back when it was opened in 1917 and was used for shipping cane, coal and timber. It seamed to go on for ever and there where a lot of people fishing, I didn’t see anything been caught.

After leaving the others we then headed north to Maryborough.
This town is amazing with all the street art, murals and statues.
We visited the Cistern Chapel which are the public toilets which have murals all over the walls and ceilings and even a golden throne.
Maryborough was the birthplace of author P.L Travers who wrote Mary Poppins and their are many murals and references to her, including the cute statue of her in the street and all the pedestrian lights had Mary on them.
If ever in the area this is a must see town.

Day 9, The last day on the island.
We got up, packed and on the way to the barge by 6am.
The tide was not in our favour, but we got to the barge by 10am.
Once back on the mainland we pumped up the tyres and headed to the car wash it get the underneath of the car clean of salt and sand.
We said good bye to half our crew as they start to head south to the Gold Coast before heading home.
What an incredible 8 nights 9 days with amazing weather all bar one day.
Great to have the family invite us on this trip… Making memories is what it is all about. Thank you to you all for making this trip one to remember.

Day 8, last full day on Fraser Island.
We woke to another stunning day, not in a hurry to do anything.
We eventually headed to Waddy Point, watch whales pass splash around, turtles playing in the blue water and a pod of Dolphins playing around.
We made our way back to Nkgala Rock to find and 40 vehicles waiting to get through.
There had been some people bogged in the sand coming from the north side heading south, one couple I spoke to said they had been there 3 hours.
After spending a few hours watching the going on’s, we headed back to Champagne Pool for our last swim.
What a way to spend our last day.

Day 7 Found us traveling to the most Northern part of the Island Sandy Cape and Lighthouse.
We all would have made it through Ngkala Rock if it wasn’t for Bryce stopping to put the Drone up, at least we got to use the Maxtrax again.
When we got to the top the sand was white the water was incredible in colour.
We spent some time enjoying the view having lunch, while waiting for the tide to drop so we could get to the Sandy Cape Lighthouse.
The 1.2km walk to the lighthouse was great and the view was worth the walk up the hill.
Another fantastic day on this incredible Island

Day 6, Fraser Island
The sunrises are incredibly stunning, I don’t have any problems getting up at 5.30am to watch them.
We packed up camp and stopped in at Cathedral shop to top up with a bit of fuel paying 320.0 per litre, before making our was to Camp Zone 8 Ocean Lake.
We set up camp and once again watch whales making their way south.
We dropped into Orchard Beach Trading and Bar, they have a great view, with a shop with a bit of everything, great food and the Bar area was fantastic.
We spent the afternoon at Champagne Pools enjoying the wave crashing over the rocks.
Dean finally found a radio station the he could listen to his Geelong Cat win the grand finale.

Day 5, Fraser Island
Another day of floating done Eli Creek, it is such a great experience to do. If you come to Eli creek do your self a favour and get a floaty sit back and relax.
We then did a quick recon trip to camp site 8 our next stop just to ensure that we could get the campers through.. and found that there would be no problems, but the sand was very soft in spots.
The sunset that nights was awesome even though we could not see the sunset.

Day 4, Fraser Island.
The day was overcast with showers of rain, but we didn’t let that stop us from exploring.
We made our way to the West Coast of the Island to find fallen trees blocking our beach run. So a detour and back on the beach finding amazing sand cliffs with may different colours.
The changes in the vegetation across the Island is incredible.
Another amazing day, never let a wet weather day get in the way of finding new places.

Last week we finally made it to Fraser Island K’gari.
We made our way to Inskip Point and jumped on the Mantra Bay Barge across to the K’gari.
After setting up camp we took a drive out to Stonetool Sandblow and the Lake Wabby lookout, before enjoying the afternoon warmth and beach.

After driving over 2000km over 2 days, we are enjoying drinks and an overnight camp at this cool spot Sublime Farm and Brewery.
The smell of the flowing Lime trees in the camp area is amazing, the bar area has so much personality and the beer garden is cool and inviting.
Would recommend this great spot for an overnight stay or even a few days.
Looking forward to heading to Fraser Island tomorrow.

We have almost got the rig fully set up.
We now have our 23Zero Sabre rooftop tent and the 23Zero Falcon 270 Awning and walls.
We spent the weekend at Gunbower National Park testing it out and working out how everything works.
We are very happy and excited for our upcoming adventures.

Shake down weekend, we pack up canopy with food and the swag.
Headed to Echuca to camp on the banks of the Murray River and watch the boats race the Southern 80 boat and ski race.
I was very concerned with the weather, it was misty rain, no awning and the swag has been use as a swag in over 20years and needs a dose of waterproof spray. (The awning and roof top tent are on it’s way).
We arrived in Echuca with misty rain still falling I asked Dean if he wanted to get a tarp so we didn’t get wet. He said no we are not going to get wet. Well he was right (luckily).
We made our way to an area about 5 to 10km from Echuca on the Victorian side and made this the spot to watch the race and stay the night.
Over the weekend we rearranged something, put things aside to take out and made a list of things that we need to add.
All in all a great trip, but would have been fantastic with the awning and rooftop tent.

The Grampians traditionally known as Gariwerd.
You can find the Grampians National Park is located between Stawell and Horsham 260km west of Melbourne and 460km east of Adelaide.
The mountain range provides waterfalls, walks, 4wding, walks, camping, wildlife, wildflowers and not to mention ancient Aboriginal rock art paintings and shelters.
It’s time to get back and explore this wonderful amazing area.
Look forward to seeing you there.
This photo was taken in January 2000.

On an overcast day we headed towards Mount Cole, quick stop at Beaufort and the old fire station door open with the trucks out and the Autumn leafs changing.
We then made our way through Raglan to the Cave Hill Creek turn off to look at Richards Campground.
Richards campground has a hut with open fire and a number of picnic tables and toilets, a small creek runs through the campground with beautiful furnace and very protected.
Then onto Smith’s Bridge Camp area, this camping area is good for large caravan, Motorhomes with toilets and fire pits, although it’s close to the road a nice spot to stop.
Onto Mount Cole Rd and to Ditchfields campground for lunch.
We tried out the Air Frier on the 120amp Lithium with inverter, cooking spring rolls and potato gems, these took 16min on 180deg and 20% of the battery this gives us a good idea on how we will use this in the future. Phil explored the campground sniffing every bush and marking every tree.
We then headed to the TV transmission towers they were covered in low cloud covering to view.
It was a great few hours checking out this area, but there is much more to do with walks and waterfalls to explore next time.

From the floor to the wall. We have installed the 120amp Lithium battery, with 40amp DC to DC charger, 2000 watt inverter, 40amp battery charger, LED white and orange lights in the lift up doors, Stedi Rock lights on each side and rear of the canopy, control box with the switches for the lights, USB sockets, 12volt sockets and a fire extinguisher.
We still have a couple of other items to finish of the job but very happy with what we have accomplished.
