ON SATURDAY, JUNE 22, 2024:
Our Reservation systems will be offline due to multiple enhancements. Downtime is scheduled to begin Saturday, Jun 22 starting 4:00 AM EST. The maintenance should be completed by 3:00 PM EST.

We will not be able to service any booking during the deployment an guests will not be able to access My Cruise Manager to purchase gifts and services, or handle other self-service functions. A sorry error page will appear if guests attempt to make changes on carnival.com.

Another email I have to share. If you want my assistance in helping you plan your next cruise vacation especially if you insist and not chatting on the phone (which is faster than back and forth via email) this is a prefect example of what not to do.

Rates vary by ship, sail date, number of sail days, type of stateroom, number of guests in each stateroom, seasonality (some months cost more due to peak times), and availability, i.e. the less inventory a sailing has the more expensive it will be compared to the same sailing on a different date with more inventory.

When I ask qualifying questions, I am asking them so that I can narrow down what sailing fits your needs and quote you the best rates. When I receive vague responses like in the email screen shots attached you're wasting your time and mine. Time is nonrefundable. Most people don't want to waste time, including myself. Would you call American Airlines and ask them what deals do they have? Or how much does an airline ticket costs? Would you call a car dealership and ask them how much are cars costing now a days? The cruise industry is just like any other business that sell numerous products. Rates are going to from ship to ship for vary for various reasons.

After a few back and forth emails like this, I hit the delete button and move on. Remember, I am on the phone talking 6-9 hours per day so these responses are being done while I am on the phone talking with another guests or the 2 or 3 minutes in-between I may stop for before making the next call.

Generation Y and Z have no idea. The 1st picture is what boomers and gen X had in the beginning years of the internet. The 2nd picture is a speed test I took a few minutes ago. Technology is improving exponentially compared to 20 years ago especially with AI. Imagine how different the world will be in 20 years. Lots of good things will be created that will improve the quality of life as a result but there will be some negative impacts from new technology, but overall I believe the good will outweigh the bad.

This is great. I would use the snip tool to email a screen shot the booking from our reservation system which shows the rate code used to make the booking and include a screen shot of the casino perks that come with that offer and email it to the guest so they know hat perks they have especially if they have multiple bookings and each hade different casino perks.

Also if two casino guests are booking in the same room and one has a better offer the 2nd guest can still get the casino perks (free drinks, funplay) as long as their offer is in the same campaign as the offer used to book.

This is does not happen automatically though. The ship knows what casino perks a guest has because of the offer code used to book and that offer is tied to a guest’s VIFP number. For the second guest to get their perks I have to email the casino team a few weeks before sailing and let them know to extend the casino perks to the 2nd because it was booked under a different offer code and that is what drive the perks.

This is one of the many personalized services I provide for my guests as their Personal Vacation Planner. This is not done for you if you book on our website or in the call center.

The story of my life. I work from home. I an at the gym by 6am and back home by 8:30am. I made coffee and showered by 9am. I get to my desk by 9:30am. Since I work from home I usually work until 10pm and often later.

I intermittent fast and eat once a day. I eat when I stop working so I fast 22-24 hours. I then eat until I am going to pop, sit on the coach to unwind, watch a little TV. The next thing I know I am waking up around 5am on the couch, but If I go to my bedroom after I eat I'll toss and turn for hours before falling asleep LOL

Disaster averted. I always check my guests before calling to see if they have an existing booking. Last night a guest I called did not. I contacted them and they advised they already booked. Instead of just hanging up and moving on to my next call, I explained I didn't see any bookings. I check and doubled check to make sure everything was okay.

I searched multiple ways and low and behold their booking had cancelled several days before. I was able to get it reinstated, the rate protected as it had gone up several hundred dollars, got the cancelation fee waived and their original stateroom back. I took their final payment and confirmed their cruise.

I did not make the original booking. I did not get credit for any of the time I spent working on it which I could have spent calling other guests. I spent close to an hour working on this between speaking with the guest and customer service. Although I didn't get any credit for the time I spent on this issue at the end of the day the most important thing is I got this family rebooked and they'll be sailing next month.

Hopefully they see the value I provide and allow me to handle their future Carnival Cruises from start to finish.

Then you have guests that tell me I don't provide value because I can't get them a better rate that's on the website. That's their opinion and I respect it. Many times a lot of these guests that told me I don't provide them any value call me after they've booked online when they an issue and ask for me help. Funny how that works.

While I can't provide a lower price than the website my job is not to beat the price on our website. Anyway the website is Carnival. Why would be compete against ourselves? My job is to ensure you're getting the best possible rate at any given time for your cruise, and 95% of the time guests either mistakenly pick a higher rate or miss a better offer. The rates will be the same whether you book on our website or through me but my service is FREE! Have a great weekend everyone!

I started working for Carnival on January 10, 2000. I thought back then our ships were great but WOW! Carnival has evolved so much over the last 23 years. The XL class ships have definitely taken Carnival to the next level. I call this next class of ships Carnival3.0.
