Many Californians are familiar with Oahu, the city of Honolulu and the beach at Waikiki. Maui is less explored and certainly less frenetic. Kahului is the largest town and commercial center of the island. It hosts the main airport (OGG). Although Maui has a basic public transportation system, many places are not accessible by bus. Most visitors rent a car. Fortunately, this is relatively inexpensive, except during the holidays. The resort areas around Kihei, Wailea and Lahaina also have a bus that connects the towns with nearby shopping and attractions.

Houston is a great gateway to the State of Texas, but also worth exploring in it’s own right. Houston is big and sprawling – over 600 sq miles and the 4th largest city in the US by population.
You may be going back home, visiting friends and family but Houston has a few tourist attractions worth checking out. Mission Control for the Apollo moon landings was in Houston and today you can visit Space Center Houston, one of Houston’s top visitor attractions. But venture out to other districts such as Downriver and Uptown and you will be rewarded by interesting architecture and some of the best restaurants in the city. Ride the The historic St. Charles Avenue streetcar which runs in and past amazing street scenes on a 13-mile route. It is a tourist bargain at $1.25 per ride or bay a pass so that you may hop on/hop off.
