We are safe! We have had so many sweet upcoming and past guests reach out to us. This storm was scary and there is so much damage across our county. We still don’t have power at our house and are spending the night at Bohicket Ridge. Even though they are so close they have two separate power companies. All of the animals faired well also. They were ready to hit the pasture once the storm cleared. We have had several cancellations for October due to travel and uncertain conditions. Our community has been greatly affected. Our hope at this point is we can still have guests come to the area even if it takes some time to build the community back up. We don’t want to lose the opportunity to share this place we love so much with guests in the ripple effect of this devastating storm. We look at ourselves as a small business that feeds back into our community by bringing folks to our beautiful mountains. We love our guests and hope you can continue to stay with us! Please prayer for WNC as we recover. Thank you sincerely for your check-ins!

We do a lot of mowing around our property but it definitely has the views to make up for it! This is my favorite spot on the whole property. Come stay with us this and take in this ridge line while the goats, llama, and Stella forage in the pasture below.

We had a fun morning with the kiddos! Even though we live on a homestead it was awesome to go and check out the alpacas and see the great set up they have there. Definitely has us thinking about adding an alpaca to the mix. Thank you for the tour!

This is a late intro today after a 12 hr shift! This is Iris. She is sweet Zinnia’s baby from last year. She is a wild one…kind of. She is a little more hands off than some of our other goats but let’s us sneak in some rubs from time to time. She is very curious yet cautious. We love her majestic look with her solid black coat and blue eyes. She is almost old enough to have some babies of her own. Such a pretty girl!

Say hello to my little friend….Zinnia! Zinnia is one of our sweetest and most talkative does. She is also a very fierce mama. She has two baby does at her side right now. A little carbon copy of herself and a buckskin. She is definitely one that will come to the fence for pets.

Another day another introduction! This is Willow(nigerian dwarf doe). She is one of our golden sisters. She just had 4 kids not so long ago and is truly the best mom! Usually in our experience if a mom has 3 or more babies you end up having to help feed them but not Willow. She has been amazing! Once her babies are weaned we hope to milk her as well. She is a pretty independent gal and pets are highly motivated by mood lol. Say hi to Willow and her babies if you stay with us soon!

Coming at ya with another intro! Meant to do these daily but well life. Gotta keep you guys guessing. So this is Jack-Jack. He is our only wether (castrated male). He is probably the friendliest and most chill goat we have. He, like so many others, is very food and pet motivated. Jack-Jack was our first Nigerian dwarf goat and he made us fall in love with the breed. They are a great size for kids to be around and very manageable. Hopefully he will be one of our pioneers if we get a goat “walk and talk” arranged.

Good morning friends! We wanted to start a little series of introductions since we have had so many questions recently about the animals here at . Our first spotlight is Chestnut our 7 year old Nubian doe goat. She is technically our OG goat here on the homestead. We had her as a baby but ended up selling her to another amazing family when she was a little over a year old. We had the opportunity to get her back last year and we were so excited to bring her back where it all started. Her personality is that of a wise older woman. She is experienced and knows what she wants. Petting is always on her terms so don’t get offended if she gives you the stink eye 😜. She is a wonderful mother and we are planning a breeding for her soon to hopefully get to experience her raising another baby. We will keep this going as we have many more introductions to cover here on the farm!

Finally got to swing by and check out ! This place is awesome. Tons of local goods, an awesome vibe, and a cooler full of delicious foods! We picked some sodas, meat sticks for the boys, chocolate milk, honey, and some awesome sandwiches for lunch! If you’re staying with us you gotta hit this place up for local goods!

and will soon come together at the completion of our new fence! We have wanted for a while to be able to let our guests see into our world on a small homestead. Our Nigerian dwarf goats will now have an additional 3 acres of pasture to roam and interact with guests! Of course a donkey is also in the future forecast. We hope this blending brings even more joy to our guests! We hope to have the fence finished this week and will slowly introduce the herd over the next few weeks. Have a wonderful week!
