It consists of private collections, purchased or donated to the city over the centuries.

🚩in Naples there are more than 500 churches

In the pic:
❗the Cathedral, built in the 13th century, was erected incorporating previous paleochristian structures: a primitive Basilica and one of the oldest Baptisteries of Christianity.
Both situated in the place of the TEMPLE dedicated to APOLLO.

‼San Paolo Maggiore Basilica, was restored and embellished several times. The facade is characterized by 2 Corinthian columns belonging to the ancient TEMPLE dedicated to DIOSCURI (sons of Zeus)

❗‼S.Maria della Pietrasanta Church
Was erected in a mystical spot , exactly in the place of the TEMPLE dedicated to DIANA ( goddess of moon, hunter and women)

House of Octavius Quartio
The fresco represents the myth of Pyramus & Thisbe.
An emotional love story contrasted by the parents of the two lovers.
Their escape will end soon and badly. They'll kill themselves, under a mulberry tree, consecrating their love for eternity.
Legend relates that mulberry fruits covered with the blood of the two lovers, from that moment, will take the ruby color.
