What do you call a group of flamingos? A FLAMBOYANCE. Flamingos get their pink hue from the algae and brine shrimp they eat. And yes they do fly! Often in a group they will take a v formation common in migratory birds to save energy. You know what also saves energy? Standing on one foot. For a flamingo anyway.

Did you know black rhinos aren’t really black?! They range from gray to brown and got the name black rhino because they like to wallow in the mud. I mean, who doesn’t?

The black rhino is critically endangered which means they have a very high risk of extinction. Mkomazi National Park, which is just a couple hours from us here in Moshi, houses a breeding project for black rhinos.

A breeding program has been hard at work for the past 20 years, located in what is today .

The aim is to reintroduce healthy wild dogs back into wilderness areas where they will have the best chance of success.

Elephants eat so much that they can spend up to three-quarters of their day just eating! They need to eat over 300 pounds of food each day. Generally, elephants eat a mix of grasses, leaves, shrubs, fruits and roots depending on the season and their habitat.
