Only slight increase in Fall color across NWA/Ozarks/Ouachitas, in today's update.

This is for the Oaks, Hickories, Maples & all other native deciduous trees (non-native trees aren't considered). Still low color, & still a little behind average. But, also still expecting another great peak, closer to the very end of October into the first week or two of November (slightly earlier on the whole for the higher elevations, as always)!

When to expect the peak Fall foliage?

Well, I've been tweaking this map just a tiny bit for many years now. I think it's a pretty good representation of when to expect the most amount of color. Best colors hit the higher elevations first, work down from there. Of course, the dry conditions won't improve colors this year, but, I do think the rains we saw for a time later in the Summer will go a long way for us. So, I still expect a pretty Fall (the foliage is still good even in the driest years, as far as I'm concerned 😍)
