This week, our industry lost a true visionary with the passing of Marriott International's President & CEO, Arne Sorenson. RIP.
He was in this role since 2012. Under his stewardship, the company now enjoys a presence in 132 countries with over 7,500 properties. We have all experienced the remarkable expansion of the brand and its loyalty program with a number of major acquisitions, as well as substantial investments in its and corporate programs.
As J.W. Marriott, Jr., Executive Chairman and Chairman of the Board notes, “Arne had an uncanny ability to anticipate where the hospitality industry was headed and position Marriott for growth."
