I have been on a quest to find a nice beach. That’s one of the reasons I came over the ferry to Uruguay.
Today I had my day. 
Pics of: El Plaza del Toro, beach and surrounding town, and also a dinner spot recommended by a friend which was absolutely beautiful.

Heading to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay for a few solo days in an historic town with a nice beach on the Rio de la Plata.
Very nice ferry terminal.

Had to download the manual for the washer so I could figure out where the detergent goes. Lol.

Joined up with a BA tango group and went to watch a movie about tango’s history in Argentina. The movie is called Tango Bar (1989) and stars Raul Julia.
The room where we watched the movie was on top of a wine bar. They provided wait service for food and wine while we watched the movie.
Afterwards, we discussed what we learned about how many musicians, singers and dancers had to leave the country during the military dictatorship. This was a sad for the country, but also at the same time resulted in the exportation of the tango dance to Hollywood and Europe.
Cool group of people to hang out with  from all over the world. Most of them live here, but some are visiting for several months. Mixture of English and Spanish speakers.

Last weekend. Trip to “Alhambra” in Grenada, Spain - a castle/fortress with multiple cultural influence, started in the 13th century. Later it became the court of Ferdinand and Isabella and where Christopher Columbus got his endorsement and funding to sail to “find India.”Beautiful site.

Ronda has both moorish and Spanish influence. It is also the home of Spanish bullfighting.

In the morning we hiked halfway down into the gorge to see the city from the bottom up. Breathtaking.
Then we simply stopped for coffee.
Afterwards we walked the “old town.”
