There should be a special place in heaven reserved for people who build pubs with playgrounds. Try The Growers Shoalhaven in Worrigee, just 30 mins from Jervis Bay. It’s foodie and family paradise. Truly amazing grub, Woodfire pizza, smokehouse menu, South Coast wine/beer & much more. All locally sourced & set in beautiful surrounds. 10/10 would recommend! The 🍺 is 👌 The vibes are 💯 There’s always a food truck 🌮🍕 Plus 👶🏼 and 🐶 are welcome. There’s even a playground for the bigger kids. That makes Jervis Bay Brewing Co pretty much the best place on earth right? 🍻

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at Beach St Retreat 🎅 We may be fully booked for now but Christmas comes complete with a 🎄 and decorations round here, because you can’t have Santa without a tree for the kids and you definitely don’t want to be packing one in your boot when you’re off on your family holiday. It’s strange to reflect on what was brewing a year ago on the South Coast. After 2020 has thrown so many other curveballs at us all, the nightmare of last summer’s fires can seem a bit like a bad dream. But so much was lost and so much was given, especially by the RFS. So whilst the headlines now might be all Trump and Covid, let’s take a moment to remember some people are still fighting to recover from the fires and some were lost forever. We’ll never forget and always be grateful

Nearly 12 months ago a lighting strike occured in the Currowan Forest. What followed was a 3 month effort involving hundreds of firefighters as well as numerous other services a day working around the clock to keep the community safe.

Thousands of personel hours were spent by the brigade at the end of the effort with members providing their skill and experience in many areas of the firefighting operation for 3 months during the currowan & Comberton fire as well as numerous local and out of area assistance request.

Like all fire fighters that played a role in the firefighting effort over the 2019-2020 fire season, some of our members from St Georges Basin were today awarded a premier citation for their work and commitment to the community.

Whilst the citations were presented members were also presented with their NSW RFS long service medals for 10 years active service to the NSW Rural Fire Service.
