Walk in the footsteps of famous writers with a visit to Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage at Grasmere, or Hilltop Farm at Near Sawrey – where Beatrix Potter lived and wrote many of her iconic children’s books.
Enjoy not only a cream tea on arrival but a Beatrix Potter themed afternoon tea on your second day - dishes inspired by the famous Lakeland children’s writer. It’s fabulous, fun, and delicious.
Briery Wood lies on the eastern shores of Lake Windermere and has seven acres of its own secluded gardens and woodlands to explore.

Brockhole is a beautiful lakeside Arts and Crafts house, a short walk from the hotel, and was built at the end of the 19th century as a holiday home for a wealthy silk merchant and his wife. Coincidentally the silk merchant's wife was Beatrix Potter’s cousin.
