Getoutgotravel Hi Guys. Julie and Dougie are very excited to set up our new page "Get Out Go Travel" page linked to
(5)

On scouring the internet for useful information and advice on travelling, we found that we spent too much time going in and out of differing travel sites with little or too often no real beneficial coherent information, or "specific only" to individual areas of travel. We decided to create a "one stop" for all compendium of experienced travel tips, advice and information, that has been personally

tried and tested in the real world of travel, based on our 2 step formula, of the "Reasons why people travel" and all the "processes" used to actually travel. We wanted a unique, informative and an interactive website for all to use and for others also to share in their own personal experiences of travelling around the world. The site would be for anyone either travelling already, or who is thinking about travel in the foreseeable future and made easy to navigate to the exact area of travelling relevance that you may require or could possibly ever need. So we set about trying to collate as much information on travelling as we possibly could and include it all in a concise, fun, engaging and easy to use website where everything you could ever wish to know about travelling is all in the one location. This is an evolving website and we have already well over 300 travel tips published at launch with more than 3000 more tips already to include tastefully and at least another 3000 additional tips to publish as we grow and this is without our followers input to date. We have only just begun, so we do hope you enjoy and join our new family in all the fun, to enthuse you to Getougtravel.

You only live once! ----- Your 7 wonders.

What are the 7 wonders where you live?

Reality of the Corona Virus long term impact for travel.

Firstly our thoughts are with you all during this most difficult time. We wish you all wellness and calm over the coming months ahead.

With travel being severely affected both internationally and domestically these times are unprecedented around the globe and may last a while.

Whilst travel restrictions are essential during this globe pandemic it will also be essential immediately after the control of Corona Virus, that we try to get back to normality as soon as possible.

There will be a time when domestic travel reopens as each country becomes free but international travel will take longer.

Tourism stimulation will be an important factor for the regrowth and survival of many companies within its industry worldwide and your support will be needed and greatly appreciated.
We will all be chomping at the bit to Getoutgotravel and domestic travel will be our first port of call.

A great way to keep up beat during difficult times is to keep working on our bucket lists and what better way than to research you own country for some of the best places to visit.

You will be amazed at what your very own country has to offer.
There are more than just Seven Wonders of the World.

How many times have you viewed the listed top seven and thought, (we have better than this at home!)

The funny thing is we all think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, so by this very reasoning, the whole world is thinking, your country is a dream visit, no matter where you live.

Remember, a sunset looks amazing on every west side, the same as a sunrise to the east. Equally the rainbow from a waterfall is the same colour in every country.
A view from the top of a mountain is epic no matter where you stand and a hike in the country has many surprises.

Your own country is amazing in the eyes, ears and nose of a true traveler and nowhere will be off limits.

There is no place boring for all and the world has so much to offer. Beauty is all about us even in your local park.

Plan for the future. Contact your local travel business, be it a hotel, guest house, restaurant, tour operator, shop or transporter. Offer words of support and let them know you will be there for when things recover.

Attitude of mind begins within. Love yourself, love your fellow man/women and most of all, love the world we live in and consider yourselves lucky to be alive to enjoy it.

When you can Getoutgotravel. Prepare to take little steps first. Go local.

Send in your top 7 shot from where you live. We post below a quick seven but we cannot possibly post a top 7. There is too many to choose from.
How hard is it for you to pick just 7?

You only live once!

Aeroplane etiquette

We all know how to behave at home but in public some of us seem to have a brain fart!
There is nothing worse than being on the receiving end of rude, obnoxious and disgusting behavior, especially when out and about in a public place.
What is worse, being confined in a closed space, can and will almost definitely, intensify even the smallest of issues.

Some simple tips to set you on an enjoyable trip, not only for yourself but for all those around you.

1. Never invade an others personal space.
2. Be mindful of others, you are not the only one travelling today.
3. Imagine what it would be like if your actions effected others.
4. Be aware of your own personal hygiene
5. "Quiet" and private diplomacy works
6. Use your own seat to raise yourself to a stand, not other people seats.
7. Be polite and courteous. Respect is earned, not expected.
8. With public transport, we all get there at the same time, there is no rush when someone else is flying the plane
9. Be on time. Holding others up is down right rude.
10. Having a good time is great as long as it doesn't effect others.
11. If you can smell it, hear it, feel it or even taste it, so can others.
12. The more approachable you are the better your travel experience. You never know you might even learn something.
13. Respect others privacy. If someone wants solitude, give it freely.
14. Understand that all travelers circumstances are different. Some travel for the experience, some as a need and some really don't want to be there.
15. Different cultures have different needs.
16. We are all travelling for the same reason, to get somewhere." We may not all be travelling in the same mind set. Some will be unwell, some nervous, some may have personal problems, some worries of a different nature.
17. Be aware of other peoples needs apart from your own. If your water takes a few minutes to arrive it may be because someone with a headache need a glass first.
18. The world doesn't revolve around you! The World revolves and we travel it.
19. Frustration and pushiness put you on the bottom of the pile.
20. Manners and patience gets you ahead for an upgrade or an extra glass of wine.
21. Stand back from the luggage retrieval conveyor belt, so everyone can access their luggage.
22. Be polite to airport staff and cabin crew. This will help you in more ways than one.
23. Airport security are just trying to keep us all safe, not trying to make things worse. They have a job to do. We all had jobs to do, let them do theirs!

Of course there will always be people that simply don't give a dam and there is pretty much nothing you can do other than argue and complain.

We look below at just a few examples of "Aeroplane Etiquette"' and hope you will begin to understand why travel can be both disturbing and pleasurable.

There are two sides to the issue here.

1. The offender

2. The recipient

Let's look at the offender first.

There are many reason for being an offender and some of you may not even know why you are offending others.
Some travelers are totally oblivious to others peoples personal space, or just don't care what other people think.

(example 1)
Personal hygiene.

Most of us would be mortified if we found out that we had a bad odour emanating from our person or personal belongings and usually travel after a good shower, bath or wash and in freshly laundered clothing.
Yet quite often you will find someone travelling beside you that quite frankly stinks of either body odour or old sweaty clothing and bad breath.
Whilst the offending traveler is quite happy to stink in their own odours, it isn't very pleasant for the recipient.
We are quite sure if roles where reversed, the trip would be unpleasant for any recipient.

In short, please be mindful of your own personal hygiene and the affects it will definitely have on your fellow travelers, especially on long, confined journeys, like on aeroplane cabins, coach trips, buses and the like.

(example 2)
Invasion of personal space.

This can be as simple as standing too close to someone in a que, crowd, isle or even bashing into someone with your trolley, reclining seat or kicking the seat in front of you.

Again a simple rule is to just imagine what it would be like for you if someone done the same thing to you.

How would you like someone leaning against you in a que, pushing up against your backpack, kicking your seat from behind or having your glass of wine bashed onto you from a slamming reclining seat.

Firstly lets think about someone leaning against you in a que. Apart from invading your personal space, are you aware that this is a tactic used by pickpockets?

Secondly how many of us have had a child (or even wosre an adult) in the seat behind us on an aeroplane, kicking away or bumping your seat through either boredom or whilst playing a game or constantly fidgeting.
This compounds into a major issue when the recipient knows it's a long haul flight and will have to put up with this the entire journey.

In the case of an unruly child it is not acceptable to have the parent or guardian say "Oh I didn't realise!" Bullcrap. Please be aware that your child is not only being a pain to you but to everyone around them.

With regard to an adult bashing there way about their business, this "IS" rude behavior! We have news for you. The world does not revolve around you! Go back to basics and learn some manners.

We could go on and write a book about etiquette in general but you get the idea.

Whilst travelling just have a think about others around you, you might even be suprised and learn a few things

Let's now look at the recipient.

Please do not become a door mat!!!
Sadly you will often come across offending behavior because no matter where you go around the world, there will always be someone that really doesn't give a hoot about anyone other then themselves.

How you deal with offending behavior can and will make an enormous difference to the outcome. Bearing in mind you will always get an obnoxious traveler along the way, for what ever reason, you can actually dissolve most situations with diplomacy.
Assessing the situation is paramount to rectifying the pending issue.
If you go off all guns blasting at the first knock or bump, you are on a hiding to nothing.

(example 1)
Someone pulls out a bag from an overhead locker and it smashes down onto your chair.
You jump up and start screaming at them, "What are you doing you idiot? Get a life you moron! you get the idea.

Firstly it could have been a total accident or a weaker passenger struggling to access their bag that the cabin crew had to put up there because it was heavy for them to lift.
So a response of finding out why the bag fell on your seat first will always help in making sure it doesn't happen again.

(example 2)
A common occurrence, when a child is kicking your seat from behind in flight.
You turn around and glare at them and look unapprovingly.

Firstly it may be a one off kick from getting up or moving around in the seat. This can happen to all of us and sometime cannot be helped in confined spaces.

Again assessing the situation will greatly assist you in having a comfortable flight.
The parent or guardian are not always seated right next to a child, ie, in the opposite side of the cabin or even the seat behind the child.

It is always a good idea to quietly go up to the parent or guardian and quietly inform them of whats going on.
We emphasis "Quietly!" This is not a shouting matter and often people put their guard up when being attacked in public.

You are far more likely to get a positive response from a private and "quiet" conversation of "excuse me, are you aware that your child is possibly accidentally kick my seat whilst on their computer game?"

This will nearly always be met with "I am so sorry, I will keep an eye on them!"

In virtually every case we have experienced, a private and "quiet" conversation, solves the issue.
"Are you aware" is one of the best ways to dissolve a situation.

Simply Queensland

Queensland’s tourism industry is currently feeling the global effects of the Australian bushfires and now the coronavirus outbreak, with travel restrictions imposed on our state’s largest tourism market—China.

We have faced adversity many times in Queensland and, when times get tough, Queenslanders stand together. Through floods, fires, cyclones and now coronavirus, we need to continue to support each other.

One in 10 Queenslanders are employed in the tourism sector, and our tourism and hospitality operators need your support now more than ever.

With Robert Irwin on board, we are promoting our amazing holiday destinations across Australia and we encourage all Queenslanders, including our public service employees, to consider a holiday in our own backyard.

If you are planning a weekend getaway or a longer holiday this year, we encourage you to consider a Queensland holiday.

From the Great Barrier Reef to the world’s oldest surviving tropical rainforest, our near endless stretches of beaches, and everything in between, Queensland is a beautiful place to holiday.

Sunday travel supplements.

Anyone with the travel bug cannot resist pulling out the weekly travel supplement from the local Sunday rag for a browse and we are sure for most, the amazing so called deals within seem to be an extravagance for the rich and famous.

For some you may even consider that a deal is a deal but we have yet to see a real deal amongst them.

Offers of 2, 3 or even 4 countries in South America over 21 days for just under $8k.... Really!!!!
Is anyone buying into this rubbish?

Not such a great deal when you can do so much more, for so much less.
How about 17 countries in 13 weeks for nearly the same cost. Now that what we call a real deal!

You might even be forgiven for thinking that your dream vacation will only be affordable in retirement or when you have won the lottery but dream no longer fellow travellers.

Take these ridiculously over priced travel itineries not as a dream but a reality and as your next destination to plan for.
In our experience, most of the published deals can be achieved for a fraction of the price, often for more than half the cost and in some cases even a quarter of what is published.

Whilst agreeing for time poor and the more affluent traveller, just booking a ready made itinery is a solution but please don't believe these deals are perfect for the main stream of general public wanting to Getoutgotravel.

Often these deals are expensive with hidden costs and only cater for tourists that visit the same old popular and well trodden tracks with an overwhelming army of other tourist squashed up against you as you try to manouvers you way through the crowds to get a quick glimpse of a much photographed point of interest, already much posted on social media.

Sat in a 5 star restaurant with food reassembling a not so close representation of the local cuisine, and staff waiting on you from not even the country you come to experience.
You know the saying, "eat where the locals eat?" This also goes for "live and do, where and what the locals live and do!"

If you really want to travel and experience what the world has to offer for a fraction of the cost, or at least on a realistic budget, then the tip is, do a little bit of research yourselves.

Don't be afraid, it is so easy nowadays to travel the world.

You only live once!

Travel the world for $100AUD/day TOTAL COST!

Divide the total cost of your annual holiday by the number of days away.
If you're paying more than $100, then why?

This is inclusive of flights, accommodation, food, drink, visas, insurance and tour excursions.
$100 is the average cost of what we pay whilst travelling and the longer the travel time, the cheaper it becomes.

We stay in accommodation from 5 star hotels to home stays but always with our own private bathroom, WiFi and morning brekkie included.

Yes anyone can do it with a little effort in your planning and research.
Of course, if you would like to splash out on champagne and luxurious pampering, it will cost you a little more but not what most travel agents would have you believe.

The image below shows a typical holiday trip we took and this whole journey, including return flights from Australia cost us $100 per day.

We are currently posting this whole trip on our Instagram account Getoutgotravel. Follow us and say hi,👋 we respond to all our fellow travellers.

Why this place?
Wanting to be right on the highest navigable lake on the planet, this choice was a no brainer.
With views from our room overlooking the lake, town and amazing sunset, you are hard pressed to find a better spot in Copacabana, Bolivia.

What was our experience?
Our personal experience. This is a great, low key and relaxing hotel. Extremely clean and we picked a room with a view and a half. Our balcony room overlooked the Lake, Town and boat jetties. The sunset was incredible.
The town center is only a few hundred meters away, as well as the drop off point for the transfer coaches and boats out onto the lake.
We couldn't have picked a better location.

¿Cuál fue nuestra experiencia?
Nuestra experiencia personal.

Top tip! Take a boat to “Isla del Sol”
There are many boats offering half day and full day trips to the Island.
The half day trip “Will” leave you wanting more and have you rushing around.
Take the time to spend a whole day on the Island.
There are many steps up to the top of the Island for amazing views.
If you are leaving Copacabana on the same day as your Island trip, make sure you confirm your return boat arrives in town for your coach departure time.

Sugerencia superior!

Copacabana Rio Hotel.🌎 In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Great Hotel to stay at whilst in Rio.

This was our first place we stayed at on our 3 month trip around South and Central America and can we say, we really set off on the right foot.
We booked this fabulous hotel direct, a couple of days prior to our departure from Australia after researching the best place to stay whilst in Rio.

Where is it?
Smack bang in the middle of it all. Located just one street back from the Copacabana Beach at the southern end.

Details:-

Address: Av. Nossa Sra. de Copacabana, 1256 - Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro - RJ, 22070-012, Brazil

Why this place?
We wanted to be dead center of everything! As you will all know, there is a lot to do in Rio and there are many districts to choose from. We thought long and hard about “where is the best place to stay” whilst in Rio and you can not be more central than here.
We tend to walk/hike around a lot and from here, you can easily walk to all the main attractions around. For the less adventurous, you can take the many buses to pretty much anywhere your heart desires.
Again, we picked this Hotel for the usual inclusive priority points for us, being breakfast and wifi included and our own bathroom. The panoramic rooftop pool and bar won us over in our selection. Who would want a relaxing dip in the pool after an exhausting day of exploration but we really didn't expect such luxury for the money.

What was our experience?
Our personal experience. We just could not believe our luck! The hotel is all you could expect and a whole lot more. Amazing value for your money.
Professionally run and very welcoming. The rooms were immaculate, spacious and extremely clean and tidy.
The morning breakfast buffet had so much choice, you really didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day. Wifi was quick and constant. Bathroom immaculate as was the whole hotel.
Bonus points. The amazing rooftop pool and bar, with views over the city, Copacabana Beach, Favelas and Sugar Loaf Mountain.
Spectacular sunrise and during the evening as the lights came on, the whole area is a photographer's delight.

So close to all the restaurants, bars and shops, we definitely hit the ground running.

You only live once! _____"TOP HOTELS"____

Further to the announcement of the launch of our “Top Hotels” section, we are delighted to post our first pick of places we have stayed at around the world.

Incahuasi Travelodge in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. 🌎

We happened across this amazing place to stay whilst strolling around San Pedro. Based just on the outskirts of the town, you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town and set amongst the backdrop of the colourful mountains that surround this amazing area.

WHERE is it?
Located on the edge of town. Very clean and friendly. 😁🍻 Great little store adjacent for supplies.

WHY this place?
We wanted to be away from the main town area, for a quiet relaxing stay.
Our priority as always is cleanliness, convenience, suit our budget, free breakfast and wifi but most of all, one of our requirements whilst travelling around the world is to have our very own bathroom.

WHAT was our experience like?
We were met with such kindness and eagerness to please. Nothing was too much trouble and they of course were very knowledgeable of the area, tours, attractions and happy to assist in anyway possible.
The accommodation was impeccable, very clean and welcoming.
Breakfast in the dining area was suitable and set us up for the mornings ahead.
There is a small convenience store adjacent and family run by a sweet couple.
We loved the walk into town, the sunsets and sunrises where unbelievable and we really felt like we were living as the locals would.

You only live once!

Due to popular demand we are launching our “Top Hotels” section within our website and social media accounts.

We are constantly being asked “Where did you stay” whilst in a certain location and being a travel tip business, there is no doubt that we should be recommending our own choice of places to stay whilst exploring the globe.

Having already travelled to nearly half the countries around the world and staying at so many varying types of accommodation, it is obvious to us that we share with you all WHERE, WHY and WHAT was the reasoning behind our personal choice of stay.

There will be a special section on the GETOUTGOTRAVEL website where we will not only be showcasing our choice of stay but the three most important reasons for stay.
WHERE
WHY
WHAT

WHERE!
The location, address, contact details of accommodation and direct URL link to website.

WHY!
The reason of choice i,e. Closeness to local attractions, facilities, budget and our own preferences.

WHAT!
What our experience was and how well it worked for us.

All of our top picks are personally experienced by us, are current and will be regularly updated for you to easily locate and contact direct, cutting out the middleman and more to the point, saving you time, effort and money.

We will also link these top picks on accommodation to our additional and new Instagram account as well as within our Getoutgotravel YouTube account with our trademark “Walkabout videos” of the accommodation and resort facilities.

Kicking off with our personal favourite place to stay whilst in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile.

The Incahuasi Travel Lodge

Already on our Instagram account, we will post this “perfect place to stay” here later this week.

Remember to Subscribe, Like and Follow our accounts to keep yourselves posted on “The Best Place To Stay” whilst travelling the world.

Our Story

On scouring the internet for useful information and advice on travelling, we found that we spent too much time going in and out of differing travel sites with little or too often no real beneficial coherent information, or "specific only" to individual areas of travel. We decided to create a "one stop" for all compendium of experienced travel tips, advice and information, that has been personally tried and tested in the real world of travel, based on our 2 step formula, of the "Reasons why people travel" and all the "processes" used to actually travel.
