The Cruz Bay overlook on highway 20 gives a birds eye view of the bustling bay below. Watch as the ferries come and go, the clouds pass by, and the sailboats saunter into the sunset. Just let the peace wash over you and accept that this place is now part of your soul.

A nature lover’s dream...

We suggest doing some real soul-searching before beginning the hike on the Johnny Horn Trail. Once you hike up the first hill, you are going to have to summon the willpower to tear your eyes away from the view of the dazzling vividness of turquoise water stretching to the far horizon long enough to continue your hike! Do you REALLY have what it takes to continue on? 😂

This strenuous, 1.8 mile trail begins at the east end of Waterlemon Bay beach. A side trail on the right at the top of the first hill leads to the site of the Murphy Greathouse. The Johnny Horn Trail ends at the Emmaus Moravian Church in Coral Bay.

Hikers can choose to connect with the Brown Bay Trail which begins at East End Road in Coral Bay and loop back to the Johnny Horn Trail if looking for a longer hike.

Whether you choose a long hike or a shorter hike, or even if you never make it past that view, personally, we suggest planning to end with a swim in that incomparably beautiful and cooling water.

Bring plenty of water, snacks and good footwear. The trail is exposed in many places so be prepared with a hat and/or sunscreen.

It is always wise to carry a trail map when hiking in the park. You can purchase one in the Visitor Center or at the Friends of Virgin Islands National Park store in Mongoose Junction. Proceeds help support trail maintenance.

Please and pack out all your trash. Remember that artifacts are protected by law and need to be left in place.

Anyone up for a vacation in May? If you’re local to me, I have round trip flights out of Pittsburgh and accommodations for 2 for a week for as low as $2100. 😲🙌🏻🙌🏻

For my northeast fam, it’s even less flying out of Newark and the flight is NON STOP. I know you can’t go to the jersey shore for a week for less than $2000! 😝

If you can convince some friends to tag along, 2 couples can go for as low as $950 per person. That is your flight AND accommodations for a WEEK.

Tell me the last time you went to Myrtle Beach or the Outer Banks for these prices!!! 🤔🤔

Spoiler Alert: you haven’t.

Paradise is waiting! 🌴☀️🌈

Send me a message for more information! Talk soon! ❤️

*DISCLAIMER: Flight prices have been jumping all over the place the last few weeks, so I can’t guarantee this rate for any period of time!

Salt Pond Bay doesn’t disappoint.

Swimming with turtles, checking out all the different corals, and hovering over a barracuda made for an exciting morning.

Check out this time-lapse of the 15-minute ferry ride from Red Hook, St. Thomas to Cruz Bay, St. John. You should be here!

Ram Head Trail is just one of the many hikes available to visitors of Virgin Islands National Park. The 1.8 mile trail leads to a rocky overlook 200 feet above sea level. It takes about an hour and the reward is staring out over the Caribbean Sea into the horizon! A great time to meditate or ponder life.

At 19 square miles, St. John is the second smallest of the 4 U.S. Virgin Islands, which are located in the Caribbean Sea about 120 miles southeast of Puerto Rico. There are many reasons St. John is such a special destination, but my top three are:

☀️ Approximately 60% of the island is protected as Virgin Islands National Park, allowing for abundant sea and wildlife, pristine beaches and minimal development. Hiking trails criss-cross the island and lead to incredible sights and experiences.

🏝 There is no airport on St. John! Getting to your final destination requires a quick 15 minute ferry from Red Hook on St. Thomas to Cruz Bay, St. John. The beauty of this is the absolute quiet you get to experience and the feeling of truly being "out there".

🌈 The people of St. John are some of the most friendly and welcoming I've had the pleasure of interacting with. They don't call Cruz Bay "Love City" for nothing!

Did I pique your interest? Send me a message and let's get the planning underway!

Cheers!

Megan
