As Lewis is an experienced guide, he goes on bushwalks with the volunteers and other guides at the Stanley and Livingstone Private Game Reserve, where the volunteers from the Nakavango Conservation Program have camped out in the African Bush the night before and are now tracking animals.
Lewis goes camping with them and tells stories about local folklore, sings songs on his thumb piano, and teaches traditional dances and song. Also he shows his vast knowledge about astrology and points out the different zodiac signs in the night sky, as the Milky Way Galaxy shines brightly in the African Bush.
Then in the morning they go on an adventurous bushwalk, tracking one of the Big 5. Where the guides show their expertise on animal tracking, by showing us animal dung and blowing ash into the air, to see which way the wind blows. This is important, because if we are tracking an animal such as an elephant, rhino, buffalo, etc, they can catch your scent and either charge towards you or run away because you are in their territory. But as the volunteers are with experienced guides, safety is priority.
