🏝️BEST DAY VIBES

Ok so when I was reading the website and brochures about Sandals All-Inclusives (before I visited) I felt a little overwhelmed…

Would everybody have gorgeous beach bodies and would I “fit in” with the resort going set?

I worried and got anxious and thought maybe I would just casually disappear into the depths of my beach chair so I wouldn’t be seen…

BUT… a funny thing happened when I arrived for the first time.

Turns out, are filled with real people with real bodies. My worries were all for nothing.

So instead of disappearing I made the choice to LIVE OUT LOUD. To show up for myself and try new things.

I stand up paddleboarded (albeit it not gracefully) for the first time.

I went snorkeling.

I wore my dress with my checkerboard Vans sneakers to dinner and felt pretty.

Sandals is a place where you can come as you are - where real people want to relax and try new things and have a cocktail or two 😉

TL:DR Get yourself to Sandals and start living out loud!

Look, I get how you’re feeling because my hubs is also Disney Vacation reluctant. He’s just not convinced he will really enjoy it. BUT…when he goes there is a method to make it an enjoyable trip for everybody!

3️⃣ Awesome Dining Experiences. My favorites are Space 220, Jungle Navigation Co., Topolino’s Terrace and Via Napoli.

2️⃣ Visits to a Disney Lounge for a cocktail. To get the ideas flowing (see what I did there) try Nomad Lounge, Enchanted Rose, and Trader Sam’s

1️⃣ Epic visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge inside Hollywood Studios. Visit Oga’s Cantina, drive the Millennium Falcon and play the Bounty Hunter game using your MagicBand+

HOW TO PRIORITIZE WHAT’S IMPORTANT

Yesterday afternoon, we snuck off to Magic Kingdom….AND…

YES! That is Gus holding hands with Lou. If you’ve been here longer than a cup of coffee then you know Gus (the handsome hubs) is NOT a Disney Dude.

(Keep readin’ to get the tea).

But yesterday, it was his idea. So we loaded up and we made a spontaneous afternoon one we’ll remember for a long time.

Here’s how to prioritize what’s important:

1️⃣ Your time shrinks or expands when you bring intention to it. You can continue to claim “there’s never enough time” OR you can let that laundry chill in the basket for another day in exchange for something that matters.

2️⃣ What’s important to you may not be important to your loved ones. That’s ok - diversity is the spice of life. But compromise is key. When you give more than you take, you actually win double! The giving is good for the soul.

3️⃣ Life ain’t gettin’ any longer for any of us. Understand we’re all here for a limited time. Filter your time choices and where you devote your energy accordingly.

WHAT’S YOUR BEACH COCKTAIL OF CHOICE?

This mimosa while having breakfast on the beach in Negril, Jamaica is my choice.

When I vacationed here, I literally felt like a celebrity. My snorkeling boat felt like I was on a yacht with DiCaprio in Cannes and my concierge making my dinner reservations felt like chatting with my agent, personal assistant or publicist.

FEEL OVERWHELMED BY VACATION PLANNING?

It’s OK if your ideal vacation looks different than the “Jones’” Nobody knows your family situation as good as you do - trust your intuition.

2️⃣ How long of a trip does your schedule (and budget) allow? Free yourself from the guilt that if it’s not a full-week vacation then it’s not worth taking. Long weekends, and 4-5 nighters definitely count!
