This is the and she’s nearing her debut. Affectionately referred to as “The O.G,” this small ranch-style home packs a lot of personality. Situated 1.2 miles north of downtown Fredericksburg, Texas, this unsuspecting beauty offers comfort and compact luxury for up to 6 guests. Yep. I just made that term up. I think…🤔
We love this space and have transformed it into what we want to experience in the Texas Hill Country. Stay tuned. We’ll be looking forward to hosting our first guests in the very near future.

Pictured: A relaxing experience at our vacation rental, the Sunday Abode. This two story modern cottage sits on nearly half an acre in a neighborhood of quintessential Sunday style homes adjacent to the Texas hill country wine trail.

I’m not materialistic, but I love this property and what it represents. If you’ve ever had an idea and witnessed it come to fruition, you know what I’m talking about.

This property isn’t perfect, and we don’t give the impression that it is; however, it is the product of a vision, hard work and overcoming unforeseen challenges.

We created a space that we want to stay in, and we offer the guest experience we seek when we rent a property.

This property and the guest experience is a reflection of me. This is me. I am this.

I’m venturing into unchartered host emotional territory (translation: not humor or sarcasm) with this post today.

Today is special. Beginning today, I have the privilege of hosting one of my many awesome guest’s family during Christmas. To be honest, I’m nervous, but not necessarily in a bad way. I call it “mom nerves.” It’s the kind where you want Christmas to be magical for the family. Anyways, today is a milestone and a first for me, as a host, and I’ll tell you why.

We closed on this quintessential Sunday-style cottage November 2020 with the intent to furnish and host guests by Christmas (last year). I was so excited, I purchased the Christmas tree before closing day. However, due to “unforeseen” challenges, one being the discovery of a rogue second septic tank, we delayed our plans to make some improvements. We were unable to host guests last year during the holidays; however, looking back, that decision allowed us to “get to know the place” and transform the Sunday Abode into what we envisioned: an experience. For that, I am grateful.

Fast forward to this year. I’m humbled by the opportunity to guests (alongside a team of awesome humans) during the holidays. I hope their experience is nothing short of magical.

Okay, we now return to our regularly unscheduled programming. May your days be merry and bright. 🎄

This 1920s console is probably my favorite piece of furniture in the . I saw this piece in a fantastic shop almost a year ago. She was a little rough around the edges when I got her. I’m a purist when it comes to vintage things and am generally hesitant to paint them; however, with the help of some incredible friends and a little elbow grease, this old console has become the focal point of the room.
