Welcome to Paradise
Our studio condo unit is located on a private beach in Venice, Florida. Venice is known as the shark tooth capital of the world due to a fossil bed located a few miles offshore. The fossil bed contributes to the black sands of the local area beaches. Fossilized shark teeth are often found on the beach, especially after a storm or during low tide. These treasures vary in size from super tiny to the awe-inspiring 6-inch Megalodon tooth.
There’s plenty to see and do in this wonderful beach town. Located less than 2 miles from our condo is the infamous Sharkey’s on the Pier. This restaurant boasts good food and tropical flavors with a beachside bar vibe. If you are looking for some finer dining, there’s Fins restaurant located on the second story with fresh sushi, steaks, and global-inspired cuisine. The view is unparalleled and coastal-inspired decor tops out the ambiance.
The Venice Pier is a great spot for fishing or catching the sunset. A bait and tackle shop on the pier provides rentals and the best news is that a fishing license isn’t required when fishing from the pier!
Nearby the pier is numerous parks, including a dog park with beach access, a golf course with a driving range, and kayak launch on Caspersan’s beach. Also, less than 2 miles north from our condo is the Venice Public beach which hosts daily yoga and often concerts. A little further away are the north and south jetties. This is also an excellent spot for fishing or watching boats and yachts make their way through the intercoastal out to the gulf. Dolphins and manatees are often seen frolicking here. Charters are available at the nearby marina. So take a sunset cruise or go deep-sea fishing!
When you are ready to leave the beach, the Venice Mainstreet area offers an array of shopping and restaurant options. The city does a wonderful job of maintaining the downtown area with plenty of waste reciprocals, beautiful plants, and ample parking. There’s an abundant amount of events scheduled throughout the year in this downtown area. Festivals, concerts, movies in the park, and even a weekly farmer’s market. Some of our favorites are the numerous art shows which feature local craftsmen. Another favorite is the Sidewalk Chalk Festival held at the nearby Venice Municipal Airport. If you are looking for activities to do there’s a splash pad at Centennial Park. Tennis and basketball courts and a playground can be found at Hecksher Park. When you are ready to wind down for the evening, you can enjoy a play at the Venice Theater. Various museums and historical buildings offer a glimpse into the culture and history of the area.
Numerous outfitters are located in the area if you want to rent bikes, kayaks, jet-skis, paddleboards, or other equipment. Venice boasts many county parks and a few state parks nearby. Multi-use trails traverse the area. The Legacy Trail is a bike trail with over 10 paved miles along the old Seaboard Railroad corridor that runs through Oscar Scherer State Park and ends just south of Sarasota. Nearby Sarasota is a wonderful destination to explore with the world-renown Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, the John and Mable Ringling Art Museum and Circus Museum, Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, and St. Armands Circle.
With so much to see and do, Venice is sure to become your favorite vacation destination. We invite you to stay and enjoy all the area has to offer! Check out the website in our about page to see our listing and book your next getaway with us!
