Happy World Oceans Day. Here are some seals enjoying themselves on the Wild Atlantic Way at Dooey Beach, Co. Donegal. 🦭 🌊 You’re welcome 😊
Have you watched Birdsong on RTÉ? It follows ornithologist Sean Ronayne’s mission to record every bird species in Ireland and is an amazing documentary. It inspired me to get out of bed at 4am and record Doochary’s Dawn chorus. All the birds calling “I’m still here!”
I’m rubbish at bird identification though and the app I downloaded didn’t work, so let me know if you recognise any (there’s definitely a cuckoo in the end clip though).
How striking is this new 🦅 addition to Doochary? This amazing sculpture by artist John Gillespie has been installed at the Corkscrew in partnership with Cumann Forbartha na Dúchoraidh, Doochary Tidy Towns. It celebrates the reintroduction of golden eagles to the Derryveagh Mountains, Glenveagh Nation Park, one of the few places in Ireland where nesting pairs can be found.
I love the way it has been positioned high on a rock, giving it a majestic feel and allowing you to walk around it and get different views. 😍
Happy Halloween! Still makes me giggle.
Just some of our favourite Donegal beaches (it is a long list)…

It is great to see @FintownRailway back open for the season. The railway was closed in the 1940s and this single carriage and a small section of track has been restored for visitor rides, mainly thanks to local volunteers. Keep an eye on https://www.facebook.com/fintownrailway for prices and train times.
Let me take you on a tour of the bedrooms. 💕 Happy weekend.
Merry Christmas to you all from The Old Garda Station, Doochary, Co. Donegal.
The Old Garda Station, Doochary is now available to book on Airbnb 🎉 and if you get in quick, there is a 20% discount on the first 3 bookings (for breaks in the next few months, offer expires 16th December 2022). Link in comments.
Dolphins this morning at Mullaghberg Beach. Watched them for hours. 😍🐳
