Crosstown Concourse is a new must see in Memphis. Their Mission is : To use a building to change how people experience their lives, their neighborhood and their city by purposefully creating unexpected connections. Not bad. At the opening ceremony in 1927, Chamber of Commerce president Phil Canale spoke, comparing the new building to the pyramid of the original Egyptian city named Memphis. He added that while the pyramid of ancient Egypt was a tomb for the dead, the new Memphis structure was giving the world “a living thing for the living.” Now, it houses a high school, a theater, a church, restaurants and shops, many of which specifically welcome immigrants, women, and other marginalized communities. Amazing. My personal favorite: Srimu- vegan cheeses to die for. On Saturdays they offer a cheese plate and two glasses of wine special- do it! There is a parking garage that offers free parking on a couple levels and check out their events page to combine musical talents with your visit.

So incredibly grateful for all of you, my Vitality Active Travel family! I started my day .sf with an incredible practice focused on CHOICE. All the choices we make in a given day…what to eat, what to wear, what to do, how to respond... to how we react, how we show up, how we take care of ourselves…

The instructor said his mom texted him this morning saying how grateful she was that he chose her to be his mom…. So beautiful I thought. Thank you for choosing VAT, for being a part of my family!

CANMORE Highly recommend - delicious food and love the curry popcorn instead of chips- why isn’t that a regular thing?! Unfortunately then I found I’d been given a parking ticket… even though I paid. This is an ongoing lesson for me- to not let something like this consume me… but it did and I had a hard time enjoying the rest of Canmore. I couldn’t shake all the logistics of trying to figure out how to challenge the ticket, given it was Saturday and Town Hall was of course closed til Monday. Some cool things going on in town were a market and the Highlands Festival, kilts, bagpipes and all. The mix of festivities and nature throughout the town makes it unique and fun. There’s this beautiful path with river and mountain views in town as well. Canmore redeemed itself as serendipitously as I returned to my car, a parking ticket guy (what’s their formal title?!) was nearby so I caught up and asked for his help. He figured out that I had unnecessarily added AB (presumably for Alberta?!) when entering the license plate number when I paid, so the meter guy hadn’t realized I paid. Note to others- don’t look at what your rental agreement says for “License plate number”- get out of the car and write only what’s on the actual plate! He was able to call the issuing officer, explain what happened and verify I had indeed paid… and they said all was fine and they’d “take care of it”. Grateful, relieved, and still working on learning that lesson!

Shout out to in Calgary. Love the concept of a bike shop and coffee and local beers. Great merch, awesome selection of bikes (including Marin!), friendly staff… highly recommend. Chose this song bc I didn’t get a pic, but I had on my shirt on!

CALGARY. 🤩 What a vibe. Impressed with the accessibility for walking and biking, inclusivity of games and activities in public spaces, water options for humans and pets, and some of the best vegan meals ever- Pad Thai and Nashville Chickin burger, creamy dill slaw, and Poblano Chile Mezcal Margarita … 😋

Some highlights of Dolomites Heart of Italy Hiking tour 2024! Will add somw fun videos separately. It was so fun and so full of surprises. What an amazing group- truly rock-stars. We endured downpours, hail, and snow yet embraced the sun, smiles, and scenery through it all!

Another scouting day… and thank goodness I did! So much snowwwww. Also saw marmots, ibex, waterfalls, and breathtaking views! Couldn’t make it to the rifugio we had reserved bc of the snow- very lucky had space 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

If you haven’t been watching my stories this week, you’ve been missing out! I’ve been cycling through Slovenia with HourAway providing epic off the beaten path routes, impeccabile support, and beautiful bikes as we scout ideas for trips to offer together in 2025! Today was my last day and I’m a bit sad tbh- it’s been epic. But happy because tomorrow I travel to the Dolomites to prepare for the group arriving on Saturday for The Heart of Italy- Dolomites Hiking Tour!
