While on my Hotel Barge cruise aboard La Bella Vita in Italy, I had the exciting opportunity to visit the fabulous city of Mantua. This historic city, steeped in culture and charm, offers a wealth of attractions to explore. I wandered through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the historic centre, marvelling at the palaces, churches, and squares that showcase its rich history. A visit to the Palazzo Ducale, once the residence of the powerful Gonzaga family, was memorable with its stunning architecture and art. The Palazzo Te, with its beautiful frescoes and gardens, is another must-visit attraction. I immersed myself in the city's vibrant art scene by exploring museums like the Ducal Palace and the Palazzo d'Arco, which house impressive collections of art from renowned artists. Additionally, I took in the natural beauty of Mantua, situated on the banks of three lakes, and of course, I indulged in the local cuisine, savoring delicious specialties such as tortelli di zucca and risotto alla pilota. Exploring Mantua was undoubtedly a highlight of my hotel barge cruise, offering a captivating blend of history, art, culture, and culinary delights
