Full review of Beaches Negril:
This is the family brand of Sandals. Everything is included, all food and drinks, transfers to and from the airport, and tips. It is a super convenient way to travel!
This resort is located on Negril's beautiful 7 Mile Beach. It is a perfect location for kids (and adults) who love a wide, expansive stretch of beach. The water is so calm and shallow. You can easily relax in your chair with a cocktail while the kids play in the sand or water. You don't have to worry about them being knocked over by waves!
There are enough food options to suit everyone, including 2 food trucks on the beach. I enjoyed a quinoa bowl with jerk chicken while my picky friend enjoyed chicken tenders and Mac and cheese 🤣 Since we were without kids, we mainly took it easy and just relaxed on the beach in the evenings. On those nights when we didn't feel like getting ready, we'd visit the buffet for dinner, which has a different theme each night.
Activities: There are SO many water sport options included!! Snorkeling, kayaking, paddle board, banana boat, hobie cat, wakeboarding, and a glass bottom boat ride. You can do these as much as you'd like! Older kids would love this part. There are two pools, one with a lazy river, water slides, splash area, and a smaller splash pad for little ones.
There is a tween/teen lounge with air hockey, video games, etc. I was told it wasn't used as much since most of the older kids want to be on the beach.
My tip with older kids would be to get off the property at least once or twice and enjoy the island! Rick's Cafe is nearby where you can jump off cliffs, or you can venture a bit further to explore waterfalls.
This is a great spot for younger kids! They would love the Sesame Street characters! They visit the kids club often and do a show every night. There is also a big parade once a week. The kids club was just redone within the last year. It has a huge climbing/play structure that covers 2 rooms. The kids club is staffed but certified and English trained nannies. You know your kiddos are in good hands! Beaches is also Autism certified!
Entertainment: Full disclosure, we didn't see any of the shows at night. Instead, we were quite content to be in our beds watching Netflix documentaries by 9pm each night 🤣 That's what happens when two tired moms travel without kids, lol!!
They had a Jamaican night with a steel drum band, and a Broadway style show another night. There are nightly shows at 7:30 followed by a family activity such as karaoke or family game night. There are also weekly themed events such as White Night, a Silent DJ party, and a Beach Party. We were only there 3 nights so we missed the parties.
Lastly, rooms: This is a great spot for a multi gen trip or a family reunion. They have a brand new building with suites that will sleep up to 16!!! Sadly, they were all full so I wasn't able to tour one. I did get to tour a family room that will sleep up to 5. Since I have a family of 5, I really appreciate resorts that cater to that demographic without having to book 2 rooms! This room had a king bed, sofa bed with a pull out trundle bed, and a twin sized sleeper chair.
Overall, I think this is a great resort for families, especially those with younger kids. The water is so beautiful! It is also not so large that it is completely overwhelming like some resorts. You can easily find your way around.
I'd love to answer any questions you may have about this property and see if it's a good fit for your family!
