It’s taken me a few days to feel like I have my head on straight - thanks jet lag.
This cruise was a wonderful experience. A cruise was a perfect way to see a lot of highlights in a short amount of time. A perk was this allowed my husband to fully relax instead of having to be the driver. One of the many reason I love cruising - we don’t have to drive, we don’t have to cook, someone else is handling the navigation details. It gives us a chance to truly relax. I enjoyed that our itinerary had a few sea days where we could just kick back and do nothing.
After my initial disappointment in our room, it did grow on me, and as I said - I’m not one to let something like that affect my trip. We really didn’t spend much time in our room. The ship’s capacity is 1700 passengers, so in the world of cruise ships it is medium sized. There were many bars and places on board to sit and listen to live music, have a drink, or relax. There were a variety of activities on board, but not as many as some cruise lines. The food was excellent - I had fresh sushi rolls everyday. My husband raves about the food on Holland America.
Overall I enjoy Holland America, and I think it is a good choice for the right person. New Zealand and Australia were both wonderful and I feel should be on everyone’s bucket list. There is so much to see and explore, it can appeal to so many interests.
