TGIF! So glad the week is over!

Itā€™s officially cozy season, and today youā€™ll find me kicking off this Friday morning with cup of coffee to give me a boost of energy to finish all of my client proposals for travel in the new year!

I have one or two more spots left for new clients this year and then Iā€™ll be closing my calendar until the new year! Get in touch if you need help!

How are you kicking off your weekend?

āœˆļø A great family trip is about so much more than just a flight and a hotel or resort/cruise ship.

I LOVE planning trips that include these little details about the destinations my clients are visiting to truly elevate their travel experiences.

Do you have any questions about travel planning? My door is always open.

Raise your hand if youā€™ve ever been personally victimized by the internet when trying to research your family vacations šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļø

The number of resorts & cruise options out there is enough to have 50 tabs open comparing different and get lost down a trip advisor rabbit hole!

Thatā€™s why my clients come to me.

āœ… Itā€™s for clarity on their travel choices.
āœ… Itā€™s for a second pair of eyes on their plans.
āœ… Itā€™s for peace of mind, ease, and a stress-free travel process.

If that sounds like something you want, head to the link in my bio to join my private Facebook group and learn more about me and how I help my clients or if your ready letā€™s hop on a consultation call!!

Iā€™m going to be the one to say it.

Planning your trips yourself is wasting your time šŸ˜¬

Spending hours and hours scrolling through endless websites, comparing prices, reading reviews, and then booking it all?

Thatā€™s a lot of work!

If youā€™re the type who enjoys the research and the brainstorming, I highly recommend doing some of the upfront work ā€” because, quite honestly, itā€™s fun to dream about getting away!

But then hand over your notes to a travel advisor to do the legwork! We can also be a great resource to confirm your choice is the best one OR be able to offer an option that may be an even better fit!

Itā€™s waaaay less of your time spent, and you get the benefit of a second pair of eyes on everything.

Close the browser tabs, friend! You have enough on your plate already! Send me a DM or head to the link in my bio to book a call instead.

I couldnā€™t agree more with the saying, ā€œgift experiences, not thingsā€ we have been gifting family travel in our family for a while and Iā€™m loving the decrease in toys that are played with for a few hours and then end up sitting in a drawer not to be played with again.

If being a travel agent & mom has taught me anything, itā€™s that the memories made and the experiences had together are priceless.

I see it every single time clients come home raving about their vacations.

If youā€™re thinking of gifting travel instead of things this year, here are 3 trip ideas to put under the tree for your family!

1.) A once in a lifetime trip to Walt Disney World! These are often the most fun to surprise your kiddos with for Christmas! Wrap up a stuffed animal of their favourite Disney character, mouse ears or even wrap a box of Disney balloons to float up when they open it! šŸŽˆ

2.) A family friendly cruise! Royal Caribbean & NCL are my top picks for families as they offer SO much to do and have something for every member of the family, so bring the grandparents along too!

3.) Donā€™t have the budget for a big trip this year? Take a day trip to a local attraction, or bring back the art of the road trip and plan something a bit more low key for the summer that doesnā€™t break the bank! The options really are endless especially with some creativity!

What trip would you put under the tree for your loved ones? Your secretā€™s safe with me!

Is Black Friday the best time to book travel? That dependsā€¦

Iā€™m more of a ā€œlook for value and travel deals year-roundā€ kind of girl, so Iā€™m keeping my eyes and ears open for clients 365 days a year.

Recently my clients came to me with a request to book a stay at a luxe resort in Mexico. Their dates were flexible, so I was able to book them in right before high season, saving them a few thousand dollars. šŸ”„

Black Friday or not, Iā€™m always on the lookout to not just get my clients the best price but to get them value for their travel budgets.

Before you book that Black Friday deal, ABSOLUTELY take a look at the fine print, or get in touch if youā€™re planning a family getaway, I may be able to help. Send me a DM šŸ‘‹

Itā€™s defiantly cooling down here, but all the photos Iā€™ve been staring at of Mexico & The Caribbean are reminding me of warmer places!

On deck right now is an itinerary for a client for a family vaycay to Punta Cana!

My clients wanted a family friendly option with lots to do to keep their young kids busy, food availability throughout the day (because we all know constant snacks are a THING!) and some R&R for them.

I LOVE the option I sent them today and so did they as they are ready to book!

2024 is going to be yet another busy travel year, and my clients are getting a headstart so they can have top pick of the hotels, resorts, and experiences they want. Things are booking up FAST guys!!

Have your been guilty of this?

It seems like a great idea but there is a better way.

Why not to use a local mom group or large Travel Facebook group to get vacation ideas:
- You donā€™t get recommendations based on your families needs. What if all the recommendations are for places with awesome pools but your family LOVES the beach and the beach at that resort is small and rough?
- The best option for your family may not be offered b/c no one has been there yetā€¦
- The varied responses can lead to overwhelm. Why get spammed with options that are out of budget or donā€™t suit what your looking for?

Why waste your valuable TIME you are a mom so we know that is VALUABLE!!

Consider working with me and Iā€™ll MATCH you to your best options!

But because Facebook Groups are amazing! Consider joining my private Facebook group. Itā€™s run by me a certified travel advisor and you can ask all your travel related questions, and learn a thing or two from a professional and not Suzan who has travelled once in her life but now knows everything šŸ™ƒ (no offence to any Suzanā€™s out there it was just the first name that popped into my head lol)

As we enjoy the summer holidays remember, Christmas is not far off. What are you prioritizing for gifts this year?

We have made the switch from things/toys that end up sitting in a drawer or on a self only to be played with once a year to trips to make family memories.
For the last few years we surprise our boys with what our next family trip will be on Christmas morning. Yes Santa still comes to visit but they know mom and dad (and often grandparents get in as well) will have a fun way revealing where we are off to next. It has turned into a fun tradition!
It has also carried over the rest of the year as we teach them about what we value in life, for us itā€™s taking family vacations where we can connect, unwind and have fun!

If your looking to make this switch I would love for you to reach out and we can discuss what options are available in your budget.

25/06/2023

Yup I said it! Iā€™m all for getting you the best possible price and a I want you to know why booking your trip online isnā€™t always cheaper.

1.) Time. What is your time worth? Your busy and when it come to your down time do you really want to be spending it online searching for a resort or ship that meets what your looking for, reading through conflicting reviews and asking questions in Facebook groups only to get answers from people who donā€™t know you from Adam and donā€™t have your best interest in mind.

2.) The price may seem cheaper at face value but it isnā€™t always worth it. Yes some discount sites may seem to be cheaper with their limited time deals BUT thatā€™s not always the case. You may end up paying more in the long run if you need to change or cancel anything, plus if you have any issues your dealing with a 1-800 number and a staff member who doesnā€™t know the ins and outs of your vacation. You have any challenges when you book with a Travel Advisorā€¦we are the ones on the phone advocating on your behalf.

3.) Promotions. We have access to special deals and promotions you may not be able to get on your own. This is especially true with cruises! I have a ton of deals I have access to with my cruise suppliers that offer much lower rates than you can get on your own. This is especially true if your cruising in double occupancy.

Plus you are supporting a small business, who lives for making your vacation dreams come true. Instead of a giant company who wellā€¦letā€™s just say they donā€™t light up when they see photos you tag while on vacation having the time of your life šŸ™ƒ

You guys!!! This ship looks amazing, it is going to be the 6th Oasis class ship and has all of these amazing amenities for an epic weekend at sea!

Utopia of the Seas will be departing from Port Canaveral (Orlando) and rotating between 3 night sailings (Fri-Mon) and 4 night sailings (Mon-Fri). All sailings will include a stop at CocoCay!

But while all of this is amazing, my favourite part? The price!!! I was easily able to find an interior stateroom for the 4 night sailing for my family of 4 under $2500!!!! This is a win in my books especially for a new ship!!

If you would love to be booked on this amazing new ship let me know! Bookings open today for sailings beginning Summer 2024!!

Iā€™m so excited for my upcoming trip to The Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party!! And my Universal Orlando training, resort tours and visit!

Part of my job as a Travel Advisor (and I would argue the best part šŸ˜‰) is making sure Iā€™m visiting the destinations, ships and resorts I recommend to my clients! This allows me to give you the best possible recommendations based off first hand experience.

So what do I do if I havenā€™t had first had experience? I have an amazing support network of other TAs from all over. So if I havenā€™t personally visited a resort or ship Iā€™m recommending Iā€™m reaching out to them to get their first hand reviews.

One exception to this is Disney World. First hand knowledge of this destination is KEY to being able to provide you with support for your Disney vacation. Disney isnā€™t a regular vacation it requires some strategy and planning and first hand experience is the best way for me to be able to share this with you.

So Iā€™ll suck it up and do this dirty work in the name of my clients šŸ™ƒ

Travel Tip Tuesday!

Do you love trying out the Specialty Dining venues on your cruise vacations? or want to give them a try but are hesitant to add on an additional cost to your vacation? Consider opting for a lunch reservation instead! Prices are typically less than half the cost of a dinner reservation.

AND it's often the same menu!

This is often how we enjoy a specialty dining meal at a fraction of the cost!

Ever wonder which type of vacation will offer you the best value for your money?

Both cruises & all inclusive vacations offer a great vacation; and while cruises win in some categories such as entertainment, activities and range of accommodation options, all inclusive resorts take the win for food and overall inclusions.

My bottom line: If you are the type of person who needs to know how much your whole vacation will be without the need to add on after booking, then an all inclusive vacation is your best bet!

However if you can drive to a cruise port (or have the option for cheaper flights) like a wide variety of activities and entertainment and are ok with some add on pricing and are ok keeping that in mind when budgeting then a cruise vacation may offer the best value for you!

Which type of vacation do you prefer? Let me know in the comments!! šŸ‘‡šŸ¼šŸ‘‡šŸ¼šŸ‘‡šŸ¼

26/05/2023

Ever wonder what the biggest factor is in saving money on your vacation? Flexibility! Let me break that down for you a bit more:

1.) Flexibility in time - did you know the prices of cruises and all inclusive vacations can vary in price from week to week, day to day? This is especially true during peak travel times (March Break, Winter & Summer breaks) I was pricing out a cruise for a client and the SAME cruise the week after school started up was 50% cheaper than the one when kids are out! If you can pull your kids out of school and go during off peak times you can save a lot! And teachers I feel you! I know it sucks you canā€™t take the time off but if you can even shift by a day or two it can make a difference.

2.)Flexibility in stateroom (Cruising) - if you can be flexible with your room category when cruising you can also save. Guaranteed staterooms allow the cruise line to assign you to the best available room prior to departure. They have these for most categories and itā€™s one of our favourite ways to save if we need to. Yes you risk getting a not ideal location but I always say a not ideal room on a cruise ship is better than no room at all!

3.) Flexibility in departure date - flight prices are often cheaper during the week (Tuesday & Wednesday) if you can adjust your trip yo reflect this you can also save here.

I hope you found these tips to be helpful! Follow along to learn more about getting the best value on your next vacation!

06/03/2023

Many visitors, especially first-timers, see the parkā€™s vastness and ask themselves what to do at Disney World. The answer is completely up to you!

The best thing to do at Disney World is completely down to your personal preference ā€“ there is something for everyone. How could there not be? Itā€™s Disney after all!

You can dine out at one of Disneyā€™s many restaurants, yo ho with the pirates of the Caribbean, experience the Tower of Terror, and so much more!

However my top 3 tips are:
1.) Go at your own pace - it's not a marathon (unless you want it to be)
2.) Know your must do items. Whether attractions, parades, characters etc. Know your must do items at each park and anything extra is an added bonus!
3.) Work with a Travel Advisor. Like me ;) Disney is not something to plan on your own for the first time. There are just too many ins and outs to know. Having someone who can help guide you through the unknown will save hours of stress and rabbit holes down google and facebook groups.

So, what are you doing first thing when you arrive at Disney?

02/03/2023

Well 2023 is well underway!! So far we have 2 of these booked and are well underway planning our family trip to Hawaii. Are you on your way to accomplishing your family travel goals for this year? Or maybe you haven't set any? If not here's a tip. Sit down and map out where you want to travel with your family over the next 1, 2, 5 or even 10 years. Mapping it out will help you decide when to take each of those trips, and of course the fun part how to budget them!

What destinations are on your families travel goals for this year? Let me know in the comments!

01/03/2023

One of the least enjoyable parts of traveling as a family is the flight! It can be hard to keep the little ones happy and entertained. While we like to try and drive to our destinations we have also flown with our boys since they were little, longest flight was to France when our youngest was only 9months old! So we have learned a thing or two along the way...
Here are some of our tips to help keep your kiddos entertained during the flight:
1.) Preparation. If this is your first flight sit down with your kids and explain what the process is like. Watch some YouTube videos, show pictures, even do a role play!
2.) Have them pack their carry on backpack. Let them choose some activities they would like to bring.
3.) Grab some surprises. We love to grab a few new things we think they will enjoy. Our favourites so far have been Wikki Stix, our boys love building and creating with them. They take up minimal space and make minimal mess...win/win!
4.) Snacks. Not sure about you but our kids love their snacks! We like lollipops as they tend to last a while and the sucking can help with take off and landing too.
5.) Screen time. Sometimes you just need to use the screen. Our boys are old enough now that playing some educational games or watching a movie does the trick.

If your planning on flying with school aged kids, babies or toddlers it is totally doable and should not put off travelling just because of the 'hassles'.

Feel like you may need some more support and are flying with a baby/toddler? Check out An online travel academy for families and they will teach you how to get your baby/toddler to sleep on every flight! I wish they were around when my kids were babies I totally would have taken advantage of this!!

Letā€™s talk about booking trips through online travel websites (Weā€™re talking Expedia, iTravel, Costco etc)

Yes, you can book online. And yes it's often quite easy to do...

No, the price wonā€™t be much different when you book with me,

But hereā€™s what you WILL have when you book with me instead.

āœˆļø Someone to help you personally curate your vacation

šŸ„‚ Someone to delegate all of the logistics to so you donā€™t have to worry

šŸŽ‰ An actual phone number and person to call when you need something, not just a 1-800 number

ā˜€ļø Someone thatā€™s here every single step of the way for every vacation. Who knows you, your family, and how you like to travel.

So no, it wonā€™t be cheaper booking with me, but thereā€™s so much more value you get when you plan your trips.

Time flies when youā€™re having fun and planning amazing trips around the world for clients. But itā€™s crazy just how time is flying lately! Wasnā€™t it just January 1 like yesterday?

That being said, weā€™re going into the third month of the year, and if youā€™ve been pondering a family cruise this spring or summer, let me tell youā€¦

This isnā€™t the year to leave things for the last minute! So many travelers are using their cruise credits, so ships are filling up quickly so if youā€™re hoping for a family cruise donā€™t wait until the cabins are all booked up.

Here are 5 spring/summer family cruises Iā€™ve found that are under $5,500 Canadian that have some availability left. But there are not a ton of staterooms available so if you're interested contact me! Bonus they are all easy embarkation ports to get to from Ontario. Some even driving distance!

Iā€™m here to get the ball rolling when you are ready! Shoot me a DM to schedule a consultation call.
