Did you know that hiking is a national hobby of Japan? 🙂

A kind and lovely introduction today from Suzanne at ICON Adventures here in Toowoomba.
Her business specialises in amazing hiking adventures at many great locations across the world.

Japan has a large and well developed nationwide hiking infrastructure for their domestic market. Due to language and the lack of easy access it can sometimes be difficult to access for foreigners and it is still largely untapped for inbound markets.

My head is already spinning with ideas.
Let's see what happens when a Hiking specialist and a Japan specialist put their heads together.

Yesterday, I met Kaz.

Kaz grew up in Japan 🇯🇵 but has lived in Australia 🇦🇺 for much of her adult life with her partner, Geoff. Together they ran a successful Japanese inbound tourism business in Townsville for a number of years (until COVID put a stop to that). They've used the last couple of years to rethink their business and moved to Toowoomba to be closer to family.

Watch this space as we will be working together to put more off-the-beaten-track 🗺️ Japan itineraries together.
