Sail Homer is Branching out! This Fall we purchased a 28 foot Diesel Cruiser. We are refitting it this winter and sprucing it up, Including a system from Golden Fuel Systems so it will run on waste vegetable oil gathered from local restaurants. Along with sailing tours, Sail Homer will also provide water taxi Service on this new boat. Even though it is cold and snowing outside we are looking forward to this next summer on the water!

What a great Summer! We have been doing a lot of tours this summer! This year we are offering 2 hour tours for $50 a head. We go across the bay, tour Gull Island bird rookery, and back. As far as I know, the best price out there to get out on the bay. Bring a hat or sunscreen, it is a scorcher this summer.

Yesterday we had the lucky Whale whisperer on board! 5 minutes out of the harbor we saw our first spout, and then it was 4 hours of non-stop whale action! many times we had them on all sides! Absolutely incredible trip...

First test run of 2011 with the new engine. Ran perfect. So smooth so quiet! It was a bit chilly, 28, but it was good to get on the water!

Engine is 80% hooked up. Fired it up for a bit today. Finish tomorrow?

The new engine is in the boat! It took 4 guys and some grunting but we wrangled it into place.

Just pulled the old engine out of the boat today, (despite a cracked or bruised rib, dont know which it is, but its whatever hurts the most)
As soon as i heal up, I am excited to put the new engine in. Old engine was 42 years old and instead of putting money into an antique, I found a great deal on a new engine.
Of coarse it is a diesel so it will still run on veggie oil.
