Had a productive meeting today with our MP Alicia Kearns in Melton. She fully supports the Forest Rooms 'ECO Tourism' project for Rutland and believes it will be a great asset to Rutland.

In our opinion, Rutland Council are being very small-minded and are giving the impression they don't value or care about the ENVIRONMENT, ENERGY-EFFICIENCY or TOURISM in Rutland.

At present, their stance is they are looking to turn down our planning application for a small carefully-considered green ECO Tourist development of only five luxury boutique forest retreats. The retreats are hidden away in a woodland and can’t be seen from the road and are 100% off-grid, putting zero drain on the energy network making them carbon zero. They would also bring in high quality discerning tourists into Rutland to spend money in local businesses, pubs & restaurants.

All the retreats are named after famous bears. There will be 5 retreats - Pooh - Paddington - Fozzie - Baloo - Yogi
Below is the Yogi Retreat, with it's unique layout of North wing, South East wing & South West wing. All sat on stilts 3m off the ground amongst the woodland. Let us know your thoughts?
