A spontaneous NY idea - to walk tomorrow (02.01) a small part of Levada Serra do Faial (different from the last time) and have a picnic afterwards. Anybody interested to join - let's meet in Camacha Continente external parking around 11.30am 😉

One of the great sunny days you can spend with kids in Madeira is to go first to Madeira Aquarium in Porto Moniz and then to Seixal beach 🏖️
The Aquarium is quite small (10 minutes is enough) but still have sharks, skates and other interesting 🐟 And it's free in June for the families with kids 😉
And Seixal beach - is the best of the best 💖 100% black sand beach surrounded by beautiful green mountains is situated at the North coast of the island, some 40 minutes drive from Funchal.
Highly recommended for all the visitors of the island!

Medieval Market (Mercado Quinhentista) is an annual festival hold in Machico first weekend of June 🛡️ For three days the whole town goes back to centuries ago, filled with knights and ladies, farmers and minstrels ⚔️ Medieval merchants sell different handicrafts and offer workshops of pottery and woodwork. The main part of the festival is a historical parade and ship arrival dedicated to Madeira discovery time. Testing traditional food and drinks is another highlight of the festival 🍲
Great opportunity to dive into the magic atmosphere of Middle Ages!
This would be happening right now, but this year unfortunately no 😟 Looking forward to June 2021! )

Parque Temático da Madeira - one of the greatest attractions for the kids in the island - is open for public again since this week! The pavilions, the boats and the playground are still closed, but the park itself is wonderful anyway, and the train is functioning already! 💖

Madeira is a nature lover's paradise... Our forests are full of fresh air, wild plants and are truly alive. This tree fern is a pre-historic plant from dinosaurs era - feel yourself like millions years ago 🙂

Today the beaches of Madeira are officially opened, YEAHH!!! 🙂 Two months without the ocean swimming - that was quite a lot for us.. 😉

How we celebrated the end of the emergency state? Of course by walking in the forest! 🌳 It was quite a long time without walks, and we couldn't stop enjoying the fresh air and nature.. 😍
Congratulations to everyone here that the most difficult period hopefully passed and little by little we'll get back to normal life! 🙏

Two days ago, before the Emergency state was announced, we decided to walk with our kids in the forest for the last time in the coming weeks ahead... Sunny day, smell of eucalyptus, sound of the levada, flowers, butterflies.. Freedom.. We actually need so few things to be happy, why sometimes we don't value them enough every day? ;)
Dear friends, we are sure - everything will be fine, the hard times will pass and we'll walk with you again very soon! Stay positive, stay at home and stay well! Força Portugall! 💖

This Sunday we celebrated Maslenitsa with the Russian community of Madeira. This celebration is an Orthodox analog of Carnival and marks the end of the winter, and the beginning of lent. We've played different games, the kids learnt how to make pancakes, but we decided to skip burning Maslenitsa doll (traditional part of the celebration) as she was too beautiful for this ;)

Замечательный праздник Масленица! Наши дети растут быстро и в этом году нам удалось провести живой мастер-класс, на котором дети узнали рецепты блинов и поучаствовали в их выпечке, и каждый смог создать свою куклу Масленицу на память, но всем очень понравилась главная королева праздника, которую дети категорически отказались сжигать. Получился светлый, добрый, теплый, сытный и весёлый праздник. Спасибо всем!
