Bonne année 2025 ! ✨🥾🌍 À tous les aventuriers explorateurs voyageurs j’espère que cette année sera pleine de belles aventures ! L’année 2024 s’est bien terminée pour Kei et moi, de belles et intenses rencontres avec les animaux, l’exploration du Mozambique et le nouveau projet de Kei au Congo ! 2025 sera bien remplie ce qui signifie plein de nouvelles histoires à raconter autour du feu et plein de nouvelles rencontres ! 🔥🪵🦁🐘

A cheetah’s tears, also known as tear marks or malar stripes, are dark lines that run from the inner corners of its eyes down to the sides of its mouth. These distinctive marks serve a crucial function for the animal. These stripes help to minimize the sun’s brightness, improving the cheetah’s focus during high-speed hunts. The tear marks also help them aim accurately when chasing prey across the sunlit savannas, giving them a better chance of catching their target.

And you ? What are your essentials ? Let us know your tips or what you couldn’t do without during your trail ! I personally couldn’t go anywhere without my favorite boots, some Rehidrats and my Leatherman. Kei loves his rusks with coffee, his best knife and a good first aid kit ! 🥾🔦☕️✌🏼

Lors de notre dernier trail nous avons été chanceux avec les hippos ! 🦛 Tous les soirs on écoutait le call de ce gros mammifère qui commence son exploration nocturne. Le premier hippopotame a été aperçu la 3e matinée du trail, traversant la rivière avec énergie et puissance pour nous montrer sa confiance en lui, beau spectacle au milieu de la végétation ! C’est quelques heures plus t**d que cette fois, c’est pas 1 mais 21 hippos qu’on trouve endormis sur le lit de la rivière. Alors on décide d’être le plus discret possible pour s’en rapprocher. On pose nos gros sacs à dos sur le sol et on continue sans, en marchant doucement évitant le bruit des feuilles mortes sur la terre, plus nous nous approchons plus nous essayons d’avancer sous le vent. On réussit à s’assoir juste devant eux, 20m nous séparent avec la rivière entre nous. On a pu les observer dormir les uns contre les autres avec quelques interactions pendant un petit quart d’heure. Puis l’un d’entre eux remarque notre présence, le vent a tourné et ils peuvent nous sentir. Soudainement ils comprennent tous et se précipitent vers la rivière, 21 hippopotames qui se retournent vers toi et plongent dans l’eau, les vagues, les cigognes s’envolent et le son des hippos, moment mémorable de ce trail au long de la rivière… 🌿🦛🪶☀️

Another awesome trail with amazing people for The Ubonani Expedition ! We got beautiful encounters, lions with cubs, elephants, buffaloes, hippos…. The nights were cold but stunning under the stars and around the fire.🔥 Each trail is unique and leave you with incredible memories from the African bush. Thank you for this very nice group of humans and the good laughs ! ✌🏼
