last night our home experienced a structure fire, starting accidentally as a grease fire while cooking on the stovetop in the kitchen . luckily, our renters at the time reacted very quickly using an extinguisher & contacting 911 - and happily we can say everyone is safe and unharmed. the home, however, experienced damage that we are assessing now. if you are one of our guests planned in the next few weeks, we will be in touch in the next couple of days if any changes may need to be made to your booking. we need to wait for the insurance company to assess, so we may not know more until tomorrow. thank you for your understanding as we determine what needs to be done.

just a touch of snow today, but the forecast suggests we are well on our way into winter. the snowmaking has started at the local mountains, and hopefully opening day announcements should be any day now.

One of the few positives of the last two years has been the rise of remote working. When we purchased and renovated our home in 2020, we were able to spend so much more time there than we previously could have. Making that a reality of course meant having strong WiFi! Allowing our guests to have the same flexibility is something we feel very strongly about, and that’s why tools like the new WiFi speed test on are so exciting. Hosts can now test their homes WiFi, and share the results with potential guests so they can make sure the listing meets their stay needs - whether that’s working on a client presentation or streaming the newest season of their favorite show. today marks one year since the listing went live on . time went so fast ! we are so happy with the response to our home, and so grateful that we have had a year of morning light, fall leaves, winter snowstorms, game nights, and evenings by the fire pit to enjoy ourselves - and to share with others. here’s to many more happy stays for our guests ! one of the things that drew us to was the variety of amenities and local attractions - regardless of season. beyond the local ski slopes ( & ), water parks ( ), and much more - the community itself has two lakes for canoeing, SUP’ing, swimming , fishing and endless lounging on the beach.
