It’s 60 degrees and sprinkling. I looked out the window just now and saw this guy. A ! I have never seen one so perfectly white. Have you? My new phone takes pretty good telephoto pictures.
It’s 62 degrees in Baytown. Rain expected later. Time to wash jammies. Tank top & shorts, collared shirt & shorts or the t-shirt & flannel bottoms, which should I put in first? I’ve worn all three this week. These high efficiency washers @ dryers take forever and a day to do a load. I always forget to move them to the dryer. Maybe I need to buy more jammies?
It’s 77 degrees in Richland Hills, TX. stands sentry at house. She loves that storm door. But, she still barks at Dev when he walks up. Once it started to rain, Miss Bella joined watch. But I think she is watching the grass grow.
It’s 6am, 74 degrees. A little chilly for me….and way too early. But, it’s my favorite time. Dogs are asleep. Mark is asleep. The shore birds aren’t out yet. It’s just me and the bay. Does not get old.
89 degrees at 10 am this morning. Mark & I are looking out at the stump of the last dock, discussing our dock plans. Mark sees them first, two dolphins swimming right in front of our house! They are a little late for the morning fish jumping contest. They were just kinda taking a leisurely swim. Imagine if our dock was there! We could see them up close! So exciting! *disclaimer dolphin photo is only a depiction of the actual dolphins. Of course my photographer skills are not as quick as the dolphins
Preparing for a hurricane
1. Get all your meds filled.
2. Collect your nonperishable and easy to prepare foods.
3. Water & I don’t mean just drinking water. Fill your tubs, buckets, pots, etc. You will need water to flush toilets & cook
4. Be prepared to go without electricity for a while.
5. Fill your cars with gas
6. Charge your devices & battery banks
7. Photograph import papers. Store those important papers in your dishwasher. They can keep water out as well as they hold it in.
There are lots of other things, but these are my top items
98 degrees today. Not sure if I’m catching a cold or I’m getting hit with allergies. Resting in bed for a bit. Not a bad view. Add bigger bedroom window to the wishlist.
94 degrees outside, I imagine the garage may be somewhat hotter than that. Texas sized bug. Mark saved him from cooking in the garage and put him outside.
It’s 78 degrees this morning. View from upstairs. Never thought seeing these would make me so happy. Movers due here in an hour. Gotta get my act together & figure out where to put things.
It was 99 degrees yesterday. We took a day off cleaning and prepping the house for the arrival of our pods. We decided to take the ferry and go see the monument. It has an observation deck! We could see our house from the monument! The San Jacinto Monument is in the field of the last battle for Texas independence. No idea we are so close to Texas history.
93 degrees in Baytown. We had some yard work done today. People in Texas are not afraid of work or a heatwave. Now I gotta figure out how to hide/move the well pump.
Happy, happy dogs. Previous owners left a ball behind, Bella has claimed it.
98 degrees in Baytown, TX. This is officially our back yard. No rain for about a week and the mud starts to settle. No more brown water.

It’s 101 degrees in Baytow, TX. Just minding our business driving on the highway & we swerve. I think it’s a blow out. But we got clipped by a big dump truck. My poor little bug gets a big,”How do you do from Texas.” Luckily it is mostly surface rub off from his tire. (His tire doesn’t really show anything) Looks like there is a small area of chipped paint. Should be a quick fix.
It’s 81 degrees this morning in Sanger, Tx. Breeze is blowing, to tell the truth, giving me a little chill. Dogs are adjusting pretty well to our RV life. If you look close you will see Bella is on top of Rachi’s cable. They play those kind of head games a lot. Taking turns at being the queen. Any way, we came up from the gulf coast to visit family. Can’t wait to see our lil’ basketball star play tonight!

It’s not CA, 65% humidity. It’s not AZ, 13% humidity. This is Texas baby, 50% humidity. Mom tells me I’m gonna look even younger & my hair will have more body. I say yes to the skin thing…but my hair? Maybe not so much.

It’s 87 degrees in Idalou, TX. Gas is a little higher but I’m sure it’s because we are at the first station along the highway into town. It is expected to be over 100 degrees in the Dallas area today. Car will be delivered. Had to leave Lubbock without seeing the Buddy Holly Center. Darn hour we lost going from NM to TX. Don’t forget the time zones when driving! The center is not open on Mondays. Another trip.
It’s 99 degrees in Lubbock, TX. Time for dinner. How could we resist? But they are but the beer hits the spot.
99 degrees in Ft Sumner, NM. When you see this sign, you stop. Right? Yeah, not so much. Mostly antiques on western memorabilia. Stop by and give you $5 to contribute to the local economy. And if you are wondering, Billy the Kid is not buried there. He is buried at the actual fort. That’s where we should have stopped.
It’s 77 degrees on this beautiful morning in ABQ. And the fuel prices keep dropping. Onward to Lubbock, TX
It’s a cool 74 degrees in ABQ & we are drinking good in the neighborhood. Luckily the is in the parking lot of our hotel. We overnight here and then on to Lubbock, TX in the morning. I gotta see the Buddy Holly Museum!
