Gibb River Road - Lost and Found Welcome.

This is a page for people that have travelled the GGR and have lost something along the way and for those who have found something and would like to find it's rightful owners.

An unseasonal rain band is headed for the Kimberley from Monday next week. This time of year is typically the driest time for the region, and one of the busiest for tourists to explore the scenic Gibb River Road through the Kimberley.

🌧️ If you’re travelling through the area, this unusual weather means a few things:
▪️Rivers and creek beds can rise quickly, putting campers at risk.
▪️The Gibb River Road and other key transport routes may be closed for several days.
▪️Areas along Gibb Rover Road and Mitchell Plateau may become isolated.

⚠️ What do you need to do?
▪️Reconsider your travel plans, or prepare for possible isolation.
▪️Check for warnings at www.emergency.wa.gov.au

🚘 What should you never do?
▪️Drive through floodwaters of any kind - but you knew that already, right 😉
▪️Forget the Fantales.

Emergency WA is the State's official website for community warnings and other emergency management information for bushfires, storms, cyclones, floods, prescribed burns, hazardous material incidents and more. Important Preparation, Prevention, Response and Recovery information is all found here.

So if you do lose anything on your journey, please feel free to post on here.

And the same if you find something and would like to find it's owner.

As we have come to the end of the season for the GGR, there will not be to much action on this page.
I will keep it running and be here for the 2022 season of the GGR.
Hope everyone has taken special memories from their travels, as I have.
Take care all and I will see/hear from you next year.

So I've tried to make this page a group, but I think I've made one of each.
For any confusion, I apologise and I will monitor both.

LOST
Thursday 12th August 2021.... One electric jockey stand/wheel fell off the caravan between Durack River stop and lookout before Home Valley Station. Between 1pm and 3pm.
Was travelling slow so would have been intacted. Very large with black electric box with 2 buttons. A light, and then a metal stand. No wheel but a flat foot plate instead.
Did an extensive search for it. But to no avail, hence the believe that it was quickly picked up by a fellow traveller.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
