Don't nix Las Vegas from your list of family vacation options just because its nickname is Sin City. This magical place has plenty of family-friendly attractions and sights you won't want to miss.
1. New York-New York Hotel & Casino
Your kids might never want to leave the New York-New York Hotel & Casino on the southern end of the Strip, especially when they stare wide-eyed at the casino's mock skyline, which has replicas of the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty. Inside, it gets even better, because there's a huge arcade with rides and every game you can imagine, a two-story Hershey's Chocolate World candy store and a roller coaster that swoops around the outside of the hotel.
2. Mandalay Bay
For a little oceanic fun, make your next stop the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay and venture into an underwater world with more than 100 fish and reptile species plus 15 types of shark. Your crew will be wowed by the Komodo dragons, pythons, octopus, jellyfish, crocodiles and piranhas, but the big reveal is the tubular glass tank. Walk underneath it and you'll be surrounded by sea creatures. The main event is the shipwreck tank, a 1.3 million-gallon aquarium that features massive windows for close encounters with sharks, sea turtles and colorful schools of fish.
3. Circus Circus
If you need some excitement, consider a visit to The Adventure dome at Circus Circus, a 5-acre indoor amusement park packed with rides, mini-golf, laser tag, carnival games and a 4D movie experience. You'll need an all-day pass to access the rides, games and attractions. Older kids and thrill-seekers will want to ride everything twice; if you have smaller tots who get tired after a few rides, you can always come back later, so long as you have your wristband.
4. The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
Wander through the enchanting scenes created from flowers, trees, bridges and ponds at the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. This experience is free and changes with the seasons and holidays. It's also open 24 hours a day, making it the perfect spot for families who need a break from the city's hustle and bustle.
5. MGM Grand
Exciting synchronized dance moves and fun audience participation are on tap at the MGM Grand, which hosts 70-minute hip-hop dance performances from the Jabbawockeez Thursday through Monday. Or grab tickets for Murray The Magician at the Tropicana for an amusing array of silly jokes, sleight-of-hand card tricks and dazzling magic.
6. Park MGM
a huge Italian marketplace with more than a dozen food counters and restaurants where you and your kids can learn about Italian cuisine and pick up some of your favorite products to take home.
