It’s a winter wonderland at Acadia ❄️

Have you ever walked the carriage roads in the snow? Winter in Acadia can be quite a majestic experience. But - with that amazement comes cold temperatures and slippery conditions. Always remember to bundle up when recreating outside in the winter🧣

Or just get cozy and sit in front of a warm fire with some hot cocoa in your at home clothes - that works too 🥶

Winter is arriving at elevations across Acadia. Rangers report ice is building along hiking trails. Foot traction devices and trekking poles are recommended on steeper terrain. More at go.nps.gov/HikeSafeAcadia

Hikers are also reminded to avoid approaching, stressing and flushing migratory snowy owls, which are highly sensitive to human disturbance. Maybe it can be! Acadia National Park will soon be hiring for the 2024 summer season. Be prepared for those applications to open by working on your federal resume ahead of time!

What is a federal resume, you ask? Never fear - Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island Adult Education are partnering to provide a free Federal Resume Workshop on Tuesday, November 14 at Mount Desert Island High School. This workshop will explain how the federal hiring system works, what a federal resume is, and how to navigate USAJobs.gov.
