Randolph "Randall" or "Ole Ran'l" McCoy was the patriarch of the McCoy clan involved in the infamous American Hatfield–McCoy feud. He was born the fourth of thirteen children to Daniel McCoy and Margaret Taylor McCoy and lived mostly on the Kentucky side of Tug Fork, a tributary of the Big Sandy River. Wikipedia

Spent most of Saturday mapping Hatfiled & McCoy sites & POI’s that’s located throughout all of Pike County KY.

Most are located along the banks of the Tugfork River just off US HWY 119.

There’s excellent rural 2 lane state highways that provide easy access to most sites along KY 292, 319, 1056, 3419, 194, 2062, 632 & 199.

In addition to Pike County beautiful rural 2 lane highway system there’s phenomenal off road access that can be access by SXS, Quad, Jeep or Moto so come ride them all and check out all of Pike County’s great H & M History.

So here’s a pic of one of the first historical sites near the cave complex that started it all located just off highway 1056 in the Little Bluesprings Hollow area of Pike County KY where the first shot of the Hatfield & McCoy Feud was fired back in 1865.

Over the course of the next several years along the banks of the mighty Tugfork River here in the heart of Central Appalachia there would be tails of love, romance, heartache, scandal, raids and revenge that the rest of the civilized world come to know as the Hatfield & McCoy Feud.
