ADVISORY

To show respect and in observance of the Lenten season, the Batanes Tour Guides Association (BTA) continues its practice of limiting tour hours on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday to HALF DAY TOUR. This is to give time to our tourism frontliners to practice their faith and maintain solemn environment and avoid disruption of church activities during said days.

With this, may we encourage all accommodation establishments and tour operators to support the BTA’s advocacy and practice. May we request that your guests (with or without tour package, guided or unguided) be given orientation of the usual practices and Lenten schedule of the Ivatans for their appreciation. We hope to make them understand the importance of the solemn observance of the Lenten season as part of the Ivatan culture.

REMINDER for Batanes Travelers

Batanes during the months of October to January usually has rainy and windy weather due to the northeast wind that batter the islands. Travelers visiting during these months are advised to prepare for eventualities of flight cancellation because of bad weather. We advise Batanes-bound guests to bring extra funds for additional days on the island as well as clothes ready for the cold weather.☔⛈️
