Great Race Team 34 The 2015 Great Race follows old Route 66 to Santa Monica, CA. Team 34 is driver Peter Lamountain and navigator Bill Sacramone. Start date is June 20, 2015.

Each year the Great Race crosses America on a different route usually lasting 9 days and covering 2400 to 2700 miles. This is always a timed event and winners are determined by arrival time closest to the Rally Masters calculated time. The closer to 0 a team gets the higher they place.

We had to try to make this ill handling car drive better. It worked for the most part. Today was a tough weather day and lots of hills that yhe ald 85hp flathead didn't like as well as other rally cars slowing us down, we managed a decent score.

Ok Rally is over Christine did a great job wheeling the 32, stage 0, first in class and 3rd overall, Stage I we were 6th in class and 8th overall and the last day we were 2nd in class and 3rd overall so cumulatively we were 3rd in class and 4th overall not a bad rally.

Well, the great race is over. We came in 31st out of 125 cars that started 9 days ago, finished 10th in class out of 64 sportsman. I could not be happier with Christine's driving, 1 mistake as a Navigator cost us but we still managed to finish well. The car earned alot of respect from other teams. No break downs.

Christine driving the 32 for the first time

We had an interesting day. We finished 2nd in Sportsman class and 13th overall. We lost first place in class by 5 seconds. But Team 34 was on the podium to receive 2nd place in class. I've attached a video of our finish line in Fargo, ND and the people here are friendly and festive. More photos and a video of our podium appearance will follow. Thanks to everyone who helped us through the years and taught us what it takes to win.
