The Red Lake is a barrier lake formed by natural damming. It lies right at the base of Hasmasu Mare mountains, very close to the city of Gheorgheni in Harghita county, and it is the largest lake of its kind in Romania.⛵️

As the name suggests, the lake has a dark red color. ♥️ This is because the lake's water originates from a river that crosses layers of rocks packed with iron oxides and hydroxides. 🙂

Kotor, as one of the most popular destinations in the country, is famous for its charming Old Town replete with cobbled streets, crumbling churches🔔, and small lanes with scenic laundry lines.👕

The 72 km long right tributary to the Drina river, originates from two headstreams, the Crni Rzav and the Beli Rzav. The river is sometimes referred to as the Zlatiborski Rzav.🏞️

Located near Zadar, Pag island, 60 km long, with 8,000 inhabitants and 30,000 sheep, is the fifth-largest island in Croatia. The island is characterized by a desert and almost lunar landscape but is also known for its olive groves dating back more than 1,500 years. 🏝️

Pag is like something from a 1950s Italian film, perfect for a broody black-and-white Antonioni set – it’s dry, rocky, and sepia-colored, with huge, empty landscapes. 🎬

The Adriatic is a steely blue around it, and, when the sky is stormy, the island is the most dramatic-looking place in the whole of Croatia.💙

Stara Planina or also known as ‘The Balkan Mountain’ range is an extension of the Carpathian mountain range, separated from it by the Danube River. 🏞

The range is 560 km long and separates Bulgaria in two parts – Northern and Southern.⛰

The highest peak of the Stara Planina in Bulgaria and itself is Botev, which is placed in central Bulgaria.💫

The Erechtheion is an ancient Greek temple on the north side of the Acropolis of Athens in Greece.💎

The temple takes its name from Poseidon Erechtheus, the mythical king of Attica. Still, it is the Temple of Athena Polias (guardian of the city), and it is also the place of worship of other very ancient deities of Athens.💙

Omu Peak is part of the Bucegi Massif, at the eastern end of the Southern Carpathians, between the Prahova Valley, the Bran Pass, and the Ialomita Valley.🏔️

Karanfili is one of the most dominant peaks of Prokletije massif and for sure also of whole Montenegro.🏔️

Karanfili's three-head peak belongs to the Montenegrin part of Prokletije massif. Its impressive 800 m high wall proudly dominates above beautiful Grbaja Valley, one of the most beautiful valley of Prokletije, Montenegro and maybe also of Europe. Karanfili peaks are the natural border between the two most beautiful valleys of Prokletije and Montenegro - Grbaja Valley and Ropojana Valley. Both valleys, Grbaja, and Ropojana can be wonderfully seen from Karanfili summits.💎

With its very impressive form and outlook, Karanfili peaks and its wall reminds many people of the Italian Dolomites. That's the reason why many people called these impressive peaks - "Dolomites of Montenegro".💛

Manasija Monastery is a 15th-century Serbian Orthodox monastery settled near the town of Despotovac in central Serbia. The monastery was founded by the Serbian medieval ruler Despot Stefan Lazarević in the early 1400s.

The monastery complex is surrounded by monumental, mostly rectangular walls used for defense. The walls consisted of 11 towers, with the most prominent being the Despot’s tower.

The monastery is a sacred place and guests are expected to follow Orthodox traditions.🙏🏻

The Transfăgărășean is a paved mountain road crossing the southern section of the Carpathian Mountains of Romania.⛰

Built for military purposes at the initiative of Romania's last communist leader Nicolae Ceausescu, this dynamite-forged road connects two of Romania's historic provinces Transylvania (the Center) and Walachia (the South) through a series of five tunnels, 27 viaducts and 831 small bridges.🛣
