During our 14-night Arctic Crossing Cruise on the Voyager of the Seas in September 2022, we made numerous visits to the famed Viking Crown Lounge for views and adult beverages. Across the fleet of older Royal Caribbean ships, the Viking Crown Lounge is popular with passengers and has many different functions, such as dance classes, shown in this vlog episode from our September 2022 cruise on Voyager.

The day before we boarded the Norwegian Viva in Ravenna, Italy, for a nine-night Mediterranean cruise in October 2024, we arrived in the city on a train from Venice. With an even free for activities, we decided to book a tour of Ravenna and set out on foot from our hotel to have dinner in the area where the tour would begin. On the way to the restaurant, we came across one of the old towers in the city that was leaning quite dramatically. We'd seen news reports of these leaning towers in Italy in the years leading up to the cruise, so it was pretty interesting to see one up close.

When we were planning an Alaska cruise on the Sapphire Princess, the aft of the ship caught my attention as soon as I started watching ship tour videos of the Sapphire Princess on YouTube. The multi-level approach looked pretty cool, so we picked a stateroom on Deck 12 that was not too far from this area at the back of the ship. Sure enough, once we were actually on the ship for the cruise, we loved this area. In this vlog from our May 2024 Alaska cruise on the Sapphire Princess, we're focusing on the splash pool on Deck 15.

On the last day of our vacation to London, England, in November 2023, we decided on Windsor Castle and to have dinner afterward in that area. We would start that morning over in the Camden Market area of London before beginning the "process" of navigating to Windsor Castle using both the Elizabeth Line of the Tube and a GWR train. The steps to make it to Windsor Castle were not very clear and involved a lot of extra work to figure out how and where to go as we were trying to make our way to the Castle.

On our last sea day on the Serenade of the Seas in June 2023, as the ship was heading back to Tampa, Florida, we stopped at the Solarium Bar for an adult beverage. On this occasion, the wait wasn't too bad. Earlier in the cruise, this bar was so short-staffed we had to go somewhere else.

As the Voyager of the Seas was cruising from Copenhagen, Denmark, to Boston, Massachusetts, over two weeks in September 2022, the ship experienced many days of cold, wet weather. Located on Deck 17 of the Norwegian Viva, the Surfside Cafe is the buffet on the ship. While smaller than I think it should be, the food was very good, with a nice variety. Throughout our seven-night Alaska cruise on the Sapphire Princess in May 2024, the Horizon Court buffet on Deck 14 became one of our favorite locations on the ship. Not only is the food top-notch, as you might expect from Princess Cruises, but with the perfect location on the ship and ample seating, we ended up in the Horizon Court on many occasions for a variety of reasons.

When the Celebrity Beyond visited Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, in March 2023, we finally got a chance to see the new Taino Bay cruise terminal and resort that had been under construction for years during the pandemic. For an American, this may sound like a strange statement, but I prefer Starbucks outside of the United States when compared to the ones we've experienced traveling inside the United States. This is mostly due to the variety of food we've seen in places such as London, as seen in this vlog episode from our November 2023 vacation to London, England. A Starbucks was a block away from our hotel in Maida Vale, and that was a deciding factor when looking at the hotels in the area.

One of the norms on a Royal Caribbean cruise is the sale of t-shirts towards the end of the cruise. Our June 2023 five-night cruise on the Serenade of the Seas was no exception. As you can see in this vlog episode from that cruise, the shirts are plentiful, and the deals are pretty good.

During our 14-night Arctic Crossing Cruise on the Voyager of the Seas in September 2022, we stopped at Qaqortoq, Greenland. With all the regulations and scrutiny over drone use in the last few years, this was one port stop where I knew I could fly the DJI drone for some dramatic landscape footage.

If you're ever planning a Mediterranean cruise and Dubrovnik, Croatia, is listed as one of the port stops, that's a can't miss as far as we're concerned. When the Norwegian Viva visited Dubrovnik in October 2024 during our nine-night Mediterranean cruise, we chose a Game of Thrones filming locations shore excursion, and it did not disappoint!
