🐊 If you’ve ever dreamed of braving the wilds of the jungle but know deep down you're more of a theme park snacker than a survivalist, the Wild Africa Trek tour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is probably for you!

On this totally safe and exhilarating tour, you can channel your inner explorer without, you know, actually having to go to Africa. Swing over crocodile-filled rivers (safely harnessed, of course), get up close and personal with some amazing wildlife, enjoy snacks on the savanna and your very own guide/personal photographer. It’s 3 hours you will never forget!

🌪️ Hurricanes, tropical storms, and tropical depressions, OH MY! Cruising during hurricane season will give you the lowest prices, but there’s a reason for that. If this is the best time of year for you and your crew, here are a few helpful tips:

📅 Hurricane season officially goes from June through November. If you are considering August, September, and October, just know you are likely looking at the highest possibility of weather issues. Sailings out of Florida to the Caribbean will be the sailings most impacted.

🛡️Get travel protection! Just do it - no matter when you sail!

✈️ Book flights early in the day for less chance of cancellations or delays. Also arrive at least one day before embarkation day, just in case flights get canceled. You may find you have to hop in a car and hit the road!

🌊Go with the flow! Cruise lines reallllllly don’t want to cancel sailings, so they will do all they can to avoid that including changing itineraries to avoid weather issues.

Don’t let this time of year scare you away, though! The weather is usually nice and warm, and prices typically can’t be beat. Just go into it with knowledge and a game plan. FACT: The more you know, the better your experience. In honor of the first day back at Hogwarts, let’s talk making the most out of your trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort!

Riding the Hogwarts Express at Universal Orlando Resort will likely be the highlight of your Harry Potter lovers’ trip. AND it’s a great way to save your tired feet if you want to quickly park hop. BUT did you know that you MUST have a park-to-park ticket in order to ride? Many people have to upgrade once at the parks (and at a higher price) because they didn’t realize this.

Don’t be a Muggle and waste time or money, have ME do it for you from the beginning. Ok, I’m just full of Hogwarts Express tips for you today, here’s another: you can and should ride from both parks. Each direction is a totally different experience. Which I didn’t know for the longest time! I can’t pick a favorite way because both are so unique and share a different story.

💫 Hey, Walt Disney World pros...you know that Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT gets (and deserves) a lot of our attention, but if you are a thrill seeker, you will LOVE Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! at Disney California Adventure Park. It’s a sister ride to Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but with your favorite Guardians.

The music is exactly what you would expect from Star-Lord, and there is an even scarier overlay during the fall! During spooky season, it becomes Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark!

🌊 Happy National Beach Day!! ☀️

On your family vacation to Charleston, we were frequent visitors to Kiawah Island. My mother in law has a pass to the county beach and it was a great spot for our family to enjoy some time in the sand and sun!

Wilbur loves the beach but not as much as his baby. Last year in Maine, James wasn’t walking yet but this year he was splashing in the waves having the best time. The beach is always so relaxing to us and we make sure to always add a stop into our day. This was my first time at a southern beach and I very much enjoyed the warmer water!

🍷 Today kicks off my favorite Epcot festival, the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival!! I can’t believe it is finally here and I am ready for all of the coverage about it that will be coming out today!

The reason I love this festival so much is I enjoy the melding of different cultures with food,drinks, and entertainment. I like to try different small bites of food I wouldn’t normally get otherwise. Trust me, I have my festival favorites that I need to get every year!

I took this picture in the middle of a hurricane and it didn’t stop me from enjoying this festival (well until the park closed due to the storm haha). 🏺 Paging fans of Dr. Jones! The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been entertaining guests for thirty five years! It’s timeless fun that needs to be on your itinerary for sure, BUT...don’t just buzz by this area after the show or in a rush to get to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. Like Indy, there’s more to this area than meets the eye. Here are some details that you won’t want to miss:

🐍 Find the rope with the ominous “Do Not Pull” sign and give it a little tug—if you dare and listen closely!

🐍 Take a closer look at the table filled with artifacts. These props are carefully curated to make you feel like you’ve stepped into Indy’s world of archaeology and adventure.

🐍 Grab a quick bite at the Epic Eats stand, where you can get funnel cakes, ice cream and drinks.

Make sure to add this to your must do list in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Personally this is one of my favorite shows at Walt Disney World and I try to see it at least once (maybe twice) on my trip! It is perfect for families and it always ends with a bang! 🏺

Hello friends!! We are finally back from our family vacation to Charleston, South Carolina and we had an incredible time! We visited some historic sites, spent quality time on the beach, ate way too much delicious food, and made so many memories!

Now it is back to the grind! I have been catching up on emails, attending trainings, and getting ready for some clients that are traveling in the next couple weeks. We are all getting back into our routines and are happy to be home.

🎃 Even if you didn’t know tonight was the first Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure Park, there would be signs. Unlike at Walt Disney World where Magic Kingdom is the only park that gets all done up for Halloween, Disneyland busts out the decorations for both parks and hosts their big bash at DCA.

Another HUGE difference is that this party sells out QUICK! All 27 dates throughout August, September and October sold out in 11 days. With many days sold out the first date they became available!

🎶 “I got this feeling inside my bones”...you’re going to LOVE THIS! A much anticipated family-friendly area at Universal Studios is now open and if the littles in your life (at least 36" tall) love the "Trolls" movie franchise, you’re in luck!

At the brand new Dreamworks Land, join Poppy, Branch and the rest of the troll pals for a ride on the Trollercoaster. What a perfect name! It’s short, sweet and just enough thrill for an introduction to roller coasters. There’s also a playground, sweet treats, entertainment, character meets and so much to explore throughout the land. 🏖️ I don’t know who needs to hear this but, MANY Walt Disney World Resorts have...beaches! Or at least sandy areas that kids can play on while you relax with that book you’ve been meaning to read. What’s even better is that most resort gift shops sell sand toys, how about that! For about $15 (as of July 2024) they can play and get a fun souvenir from the trip. Win-win!

There’s just something about sand that seems to bring the energy level back to center, right? If having a beach or sandy area at your hotel sounds perfect you, Walt Disney World has quite a few! No need to choose either beach or Disney trip, you can do both.

🍫 For the kind of s’more you eat with your pinky up, head to Disney Springs and pop into The Ganachery for one of their Artisan S’mores! This chocolate shoppe is full of the most decadent candy and novelties one can dream up. Truffles, cocoa bombs, chocolate piñatas, pops, pearls and so much more. PLUS, they have a live kitchen so you can watch the masters at work!

How do you like your s’mores? All fancy and prepared for you OR are you happiest roasting a marshmallow on a stick over a campfire and getting a little messy? At home, I am all about the mess! When I’m at Disney, the fancier the better! 🍫

🎃 The spooky season officially gets kicked off today at Magic Kingdom with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! While this event is scary popular, not everyone is thrilled about having the potential of Magic Kingdom closing early on multiple days during their vacation.

But here is my pro tip: If you’re visiting Walt Disney World during the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party season when the park closes at 6pm and you are not going to the event, YOU GO TO MAGIC KINGDOM ANYWAY!

The daytime park crowds WILL be lighter on days when the park closes at 6pm for the party. Get your crew up and out to rope drop Magic Kingdom that morning and by the time the park closes at 6pm, you will have already had a full day of riding attractions, hugging characters and will be ready for dinner and a dip in your resort pool to unwind.

No tricks, just a treat of a tip from your friendly neighborhood travel agent! Tickets for many dates are still available and I will happily haunt, I mean hunt for tickets for you! Yep, as a full-service travel agent I can secure most tickets for my clients too!

🌁 Where do you stand on “Big Hero 6”?Underrated movie? Haven’t seen it? Didn’t love it? I’ll tell you where Disneyland stands...they are ALL IN on Baymax and have an entire section dedicated to the movie at Disney California Adventure Park!

The former Fisherman’s Wharf area has been transformed into the bustling streets of San Fransokyo. So many photo ops, but none better than with the big, fluffy Baymax! NOTE: He’s not always there, so be sure to check the Disneyland app before you make a beeline for the big guy.

🍕 I’ve probably said it before and I’ll definitely say it again, Via Napoli can be one of the most affordable and satisfying table service meals in all of Walt Disney World! It’s with good reason that reservations here are hard to snag. Lucky for my clients, that’s my job!

Order one of their large pizzas, a house salad and some drinks and a party of four can eat for the fraction of the cost of many other on-property restaurants. And if sitting down to eat isn’t your style, check to see if the Pizza Taglio window is open and grab a slice, they’re big!

🦒 Can you keep a secret? There is no other spot in Disney’s Animal Kingdom that perfectly embodies the park’s serene and adventurous spirit than Nomad Lounge, NONE!

On my last trip at the end of June, going to Nomad Lounge was high on my list of must do’s because I had never been there before! My fellow travel agent, Sarah, and I joined the walk up list and were called right away. We were offered a seat on the porch but it was too warm for us so we opted for two seats in the air conditioning at the bar.

We selected two small plates each and one to share! For my main dish, I chose the Tuna Poke Bowl and it was just what I needed on such a warm day. It was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Sarah choose the Bangkok Chicken Wings, which she highly recommends! To share we had the Korean Barbecue Mushroom Bao Buns!

To drink I had Jenn’s Tattoo which is one of their most popular drinks. It has Ketel One Vodka, Watermelon, Hibiscus, and Lime Juice. This drink was an instant hit! It was so delicious and barely tasted like alcohol, which can be a good or bad thing.

The quiet moments inside this cozy sanctuary are just as magical as the thrilling ones in the park. Not to mention that the savory small bites and hand crafted cocktails are stellar! Overall, I highly recommend you stop by Nomad Lounge on your next trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom! 🐘

🚢 Don’t make this mistake at Castaway Cay! Stepping foot onto this island paradise will likely be something you dream about from the moment you book your cruise, but don’t be in such a rush to get to your lounge chair that you miss the journey.

There is so much to see, soak in and experience from the moment your flip flops hit the gangway-the details are truly Disney at its finest. Look all around, take all the pictures and TURN AROUND to see the stunning view of your Disney Cruise ship in port! The morning light is perfection!

Castaway Cay is the perfect alternative to busy port days-grab that lounge chair, swing in a hammock in Serenity Bay, ride the tram around all day, stuff your face at Cookie’s BBQ, take a leisurely bike ride, plunge into the ocean and just be.

Have you ever noticed Master Gracey when you enter the Haunted Mansion? If you stay long enough, he changes right before your very eyes! Master Gracey plays an important role in the history and storyline of the Haunted Mansion. He was a wealthy man that eventually suffered an untimely and violent death. He is buried at the Haunted Mansion which some call Gracey Manor. Make sure to say hello to him next time you visit the attraction. His grave is located in the queue line and this painting is right before you go into the stretching room! Maybe he is one of the 999 happy haunts? Remember there is always room for 1 more.
