An Evening of "Emotions in D Major"

For our next Salon of VOICES, we will have an evening of zoom conversation and music led by Giampiero Erre, InterNations Ambassador. Giampiero, along with his guitar, will lead an evening of "Emotions in D Major" with a playlist of Italian songs, focusing on anger, love, anxiety, envy, happiness, nostalgia and the other moods of the protagonists told by most famous Italian authors. "Prendere a pugni un uomo solo perché è stato un po scortese, sapendo che quello che brucia non sono le offese " ("Punch a man only because he was a little rude, aware that what burns are not offenses" ). A verse by Lucio Battisti taken from his famous "Emozioni", but also a starting point for reflection on our emotions and those around us.

In interactive mode, we will also have the opportunity to share memories, impressions, opinions, perplexities, and, why not, of that situation in which it happened to you too.

An Evening of Concert and Conversation

To inaugurate the year 2021, VOICES will host a zoom meeting beginning with a mini piano concert by Michele Santi. Michele will join us from his studio in Florence and play for us a selection from Mozart, Bach and Scriabin. Michele Sarti was born in Florence where he studied composition, conducting, violin, viola and piano. Upon completing his studies at Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini di Firenze, he was awarded with a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Music, London, where he completed his masters.

The concert will be followed by a conversation on selected rules for life in “12 Rules for Life - An Antidote to Chaos”, a book by by Canadian clinical psychologist and psychology professor Jordan Peterson. Drawing on his own work as a clinical psychologist and on lessons from humanity's oldest myths and stories, Peterson offers twelve profound and realistic principles for living a life of responsibility and meaning in a world of where we tread on the precipice of order and chaos, which according to Peterson are “two of the most fundamental elements of lived experience”.

Join us in our evening of a mini concert and conversation on what it means and how to live a life worth living in a world of seeming chaos and uncertainty.
