The Monsal Trail is a great place for a summer walk or bike ride 🚴☀️

Just a stone’s throw from the historic market town of Bakewell, this 8.5 mile route follows a former railway line and offers easy cycling for all abilities with stunning views of Peak District countryside 🍃 It’s also accessible for wheelchair users and pushchairs too!

After working up an appetite, you can relax and refuel at Hassop Station Cafe or Blackwell Mill 🚴☕️ Bike hire is available too!

Imagine crossing these stepping stones in the Peak District 🥾🌿

Sheltered beneath the Monsal Trail, the peaceful nature reserve of Chee Dale is where the River Wye meanders through a deep limestone gorge ⛰️

There are two sets of stepping stones providing access through the dale, and plenty of photo opportunities! 👣

In heavy rain, the stepping stones are often submerged in water, so plan this walk for when the weather has been dry ☺️

A 7-mile walk from Tideswell Dale, following River Wye along Miller's Dale, then above the Monsal Trail and Wye Valley. Map, route + GPX file included.

We are happy to welcome well-behaved dogs on short leads on our special 9:20am tours. Please note this is a unique environment; dogs may react unusually to the dark or echoes. Badly behaved dogs will be asked to leave.
