Have you guys SEEN the Icon of the Seas?? This ship is literally a floating city. With courtyards, interior balcony rooms, the largest water park at sea with SIX slides, a kiddy aqua park, carousel, 7 pools including the largest pool at sea, nightlife, dining, bars and lounges, shopping, entertainment....the list is endless and the sheer SIZE is mind blowing. This ship has almost 3000 staterooms!! That's the same amount as the LARGEST Disney Resort! There's practically a shopping mall in this thing! This ship is separated into eight themed "neighborhoods" so there's something for everyone!

First off, this doesn't have to be everyone's trip, as everyone's vacation looks different and we all have different non-negotiable criteria - this is just what works for us, for now! Our needs may change in the future but we have reasons for all of these things.
1.) Not sure we will ever stay off-property! 😆 Nothing beats being welcomed "home" when you get to your Resort, or having a surprise visit in your lobby from Disney Characters, or not fighting any traffic at the end of the night. Best of all, we never have to leave the magic! This vacation is an escape from reality, after all. 👍🏼
2.) Watch fireworks on Main Street. We strongly dislike large crowds. We also have a double stroller. While we miss out on the projections, we try to find a spot outside of the park where we can see the fireworks and have the Main Street music piped in. It makes us feel like we have a private fireworks viewing. Peaceful and in a place the kids can see and won't get lost in a large crowd.
3.) Stay all day at the parks. While we are there when it opens, and sometimes also when it closes, we always retreat back to the Resort midday for a much needed break.
4.) Buy a dining plan. It just doesn't make sense for our family.
5.) Wait more than 30 minutes for a ride. We'll budget for Genie+ if we know we're visiting a park that has long waits for our must-do, and strategize the best times for those high-demand rides.
