Only got to fish out deep enough for like 1hr but we got the limit of red snapper. Then winds picked up and tomorrow is out for sure.

Been to busy to post. The normal good summer species are around. Today the Rosette spoon bills showed up in full force.

The Holy Grail of flats fishing in the Seychelles! The milk fish. Hurd about these mythical fish for years. We saw many each day but they were not feeding. I was told " unless they feed on top" it wasn't worth trying for them. Well on the final morning of the trip, my guide found a nice school feeding on the top. I got several excellent shots and a heart breaking miss! Then when it was all but over one last cast paid off. This was the hardest fighting 20lb fish I have ever seen. I fought it like 100lb tarpon for 20min before got it to boat. Very lucky to say the least to even get a shot.
I also managed to get a yellow margin trigger fish which was like trying to catch a tailing sheepshead. Many shots and lot of rejection. However, I managed one for the week. It was truly an amazing time.

The Indian Ocean is known for GTs. While Alphonse had amazing bonefish. We only fished for them 1 or 2hrs a day the rest of the day was spent looking for several other species. GTs known for being aggressive and mean. They didn't disappoint. I missed more than I caught. But managed to get 3 of these beautiful fish to my hand. The two biggest were 82cm and 85cm about 20-25lb. The Asquith 12wt cast the largest flies with ease and the NEW Nautilus GTX reel has the stopping power of an F1 race car.

I am back from the most amazing trip ever. To much to put into one post. So I will start at the beginning. The first stop was in Dubai for sightseeing and Queenfish. Wow they didn't disappoint!!. These fish fight hard, jump and feed under birds like albacore or mackeral. We caught them until our arms were sore. If you ever get the change to go look up . The 10wt Asquith was excellent for this. Could of gotten away with 9wt on some of them but most fish were 15-20lb

The water has been incredibly clear lately. Makes for amazing sight fishing. Great for fly rods.

Weather is always a factor in Alaska. The big trip i had planned to fly out and fish for silvers and Dolly got blown out. Disappointed but we made best of weather and hit some local public waters for trout. Had to dodge lot of people and bears. But we all managed few beautiful wild trout with my 5wt Asquith.

Family trip so didn't fish every day but we did go for few bucket list fish. First up was sockeye salmon. Got hand full and kept one for the grill. As fresh as it could get. Glad wasn't there for the earthquake. Hope all is well there.

Took a family trip to Alaska. Lots of sightseeing and mixed in some fishing. This is just a teaser. More to come.
