Where it all started…the trek that inspired a lifelong passion and journey to social entrepreneurship.

I never imagined that a single trek up Mt. Kilimanjaro would change my life forever, but that’s exactly what happened. I started Roam Wild Adventure in my 50s after climbing Kilimanjaro for my birthday, falling in love with Tanzania, and feeling a deep connection to its people and culture. The warmth, resilience, and spirit of the local communities inspired me to create a company that not only offers unforgettable adventures but also supports the incredible people who make those journeys possible.

Becoming a social entrepreneur has been the most fulfilling chapter of my life. Every trek, every safari, and every moment spent in Tanzania reminds me of why I took the leap. Roam Wild Adventure is built on a promise to practice environmentally sustainable travel and give back to the communities that have welcomed us with open arms.

I’m grateful every day for the opportunity to blend my passion for adventure with a purpose that extends far beyond myself. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey—you’ve made it more rewarding than I could have ever dreamed. Here’s to many more adventures, with heart and purpose. 🌍❤️

🌍 Hi everyone, I’m Helen Soto, Co-Founder of Roam Wild Adventure! 🌍

I’ve been a lifelong adventurer, and starting Roam Wild Adventure in my 50s was one of the most exciting chapters of my life. I’ve climbed Mount Kilimanjaro twice—first for my 50th birthday and then again at 53. Those treks were more than just physical challenges; they were life-changing experiences that connected me deeply to the incredible people and stunning landscapes of Tanzania. I discovered my purpose there.

Inspired by those journeys, I founded Roam Wild Adventure, a tour company specializing in Mt. Kilimanjaro treks and safaris, to share that sense of wonder and adventure with others. But it’s more than just exploring beautiful places; I’m committed to supporting local communities and practicing environmentally sustainable trekking. Every step we take is guided by a love for the wild and a respect for the people who call these places home. We partner with organizations that help people like in the Masai community and others. We give back 10% of our profits to the local communities. This is what makes what I do so fulfilling and makes traveling so meaningful.

I’m so excited to continue this adventure and can’t wait to share it with you all! Here’s to exploring the world’s wildest places together. 🏞️
