Looking to see the Northern Lights without the chance of Frostbite? West Kerry has got you Covered ✨🌠🌌

Captured the Aurora Borealis (northern lights) tonight around 8.30pm at Castlegregory Strand, Co. Kerry. It's my third time or so seeing these amazing colours appear on the back of my camera and I get just as excited every time! I hope someday to travel where they are just as visible to the naked eye but for now my camera will have to do.. Amazing to see them so far south here in Kerry, unfortunately the clouds and rain rolled in quickly after this so I wasn't able to capture much more or adapt my settings for the best results but happy to see them all the same ✨😍

Once again, Kerry is up for more awards! This time in the National Heritage Week Awards! 🏅

We'd like to congratulate Tralee Bay Experience Fenit & Maharees Heritage and Conservation for their nominations for these prestigious awards! Wishing you both best of luck today!🍿

Tralee Bay Experience Fenit are nominated for the "Water Heritage" award for their "Life Beneath the Waves" event, which took a deep dive into Tralee Bays maritime biodiversity and heritage.🌊🐠

Maharees Heritage and Conservation are up for the "Living Heritage" Award, which shows their commitment to preserving the heritage of the Maherees. In this event they shared stories and tradition which have been pass down through the generations.🌿🏝️

It's an incredible accomplishment from both to reach this point. They definitely deserve the recognition for their work on the preservation of Kerry's Heritage. We'll keep our fingers crossed for both nominees!👑

🌍✨ Exciting News for Kerry! ✨🌍

We're thrilled to share that Kerry has made its mark on the international stage once again! National Geographic, a globally renowned publication, recently featured not just one, but TWO incredible experiences from our beloved county in their latest article. We also featured as the cover photo for the article!

1️⃣ First, they highlighted the breathtaking beauty of the Di**le Peninsula along the Wild Atlantic Way. The rugged coastline, prehistoric sites, and marine wildlife are truly a sight to behold.

2️⃣ Secondly, Kerry's rich history involving seaweed was showcased. Congratulations to Killarney which has won the award of Ireland’s Tidiest Large Town; Kenmare, Listowel & Tralee on achieving Gold Medal Awards and to Sneem for winning the Local Authority Pollinator Award in the small town category for Mid-West and South-West of Ireland; at the SuperValu TidyTowns Awards 2023.

Tidy Towns showcases the pride we in Ireland have for our local environment, biodiversity and social sustainability through volunteerism and collaboration.

Tidy Towns encourages communities to improve their local environment and make their area a better place to live, work and visit. Taking focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Puck Fair is back this Thursday.

This year's festivities promise to be exceptional, featuring a horse fair, cattle market, and live music performances by Cliona Hagan, Thingamajig, The Tumbling Paddies, and other talented artists.

Indulge your taste buds with delicious street food and explore the vibrant market stalls during the fair. And of course, the fun wouldn't be complete without the thrilling funfair that awaits you. The grand finale will be a mesmerising fireworks display at midnight on Saturday, August 12th, 2023.
