Camp Haile is the perfect place to recover from international travel and jet lag. After a few days rest, it is time to head to the bush and Haile recommends travel with Pure Wildlife Adventures. They may be contacted through this page. Mababe Trust Wilderness Campsites are about a four hour drive from Maun and provide an exceptional place to stay when on safari in the Khwai area. Mababe is a small village of less than 300. It is hard to say enough about these exceptional campsites and the community that runs them. Camping is located on the other side of the river from the village. The spacious sites are on the river and each has its own shower with hot water and flush toilet. Elephants are daily visitors and there are lions in the area. There is a small tuck shop in the village for refreshment emergencies. Be sure to take a minute, okay, more likely an hour to visit Idea and his family to learn about the Khoisan community in Mababe.

Time to invite a few friends to look at the story of Camp Haile. Enjoy!

Welcome to Camp Haile. The journey began in June 2018. The work has been challenging and rewarding beginning with the fencing and grubbing. At the start it was tents, pit latrine and a jojo. An unfinished container was added, and from there we progressed to a house with indoor plumbing and electricity, enclosed veranda that became a great room, completed septic system, ablution block, solar hot water and office! Along the way we added Kai and she added puppies! Then Tiger joined the four-legged family. Many hands have helped including family, friends and those who became friends. Here are a few, actually many, pictures so you can join the journey. Soon there will be a formal blessing and Haile B&B will be welcoming guests. We hope you will join us.
