A CHAMELEON'S EYE
The chameleon's eyes are the most distinctive among reptiles. Each eye has a scaly lid shaped like a cone, with only a small, round opening in the middle for the pupil. The chameleon can rotate and focus its eyes separately to look at two different objects at the same time.
A chameleon has a third eye, a small light-sensitive spot on the top of its head. This "third eye" doesn't form an image, so it is only a rudimentary eye.

DAS AUGE EINES CHAMÄLEONS
Die Augen des Chamäleons sind die markantesten unter den Reptilien. Jedes Auge hat einen schuppigen Deckel, der wie ein Kegel geformt ist, mit nur einer kleinen, runden Öffnung in der Mitte für die Pupille. Das Chamäleon kann seine Augen separat drehen und fokussieren, um zwei verschiedene Objekte gleichzeitig zu betrachten.
Ein Chamäleon hat sogar ein drittes Auge, einen kleinen lichtempfindlichen Fleck auf der Oberseite seines Kopfes. Dieses "dritte Auge" bildet kein Bild, es ist also nur ein rudimentäres Auge.

ABOUT MANES
At around 12 to 14 months old, male cubs begin to grow longer hair around their chests and necks. This is the beginning of their mane, which will not have grown properly until they reach the age of two. Usually, the mane continues to gets longer and darker with age.

ÜBER MANES
Im Alter von etwa 12 bis 14 Monaten bekommen die männlichen Jungtiere, längere Haare auf der Brust und am Hals. Dies ist der Beginn ihrer Mähne, die erst im Alter von zwei Jahren richtig gewachsen sein wird. Normalerweise wird die Mähne mit zunehmendem Alter immer länger und dunkler.

Potjiekos literally translated "small-pot food", is a dish prepared outdoors. It is traditionally cooked in a round, cast iron, three-legged cauldron, the potjie, descended from the Dutch oven brought from the Netherlands to South Africa in the 17th century and found in the homes throughout southern Africa.

POTJIEKOS

Jahrhundert aus den Niederlanden nach Südafrika gebracht wurde und in den Haushalten im gesamten südlichen Afrika zu finden ist.

For Sabrina this is one of the best sounds in the bush. Although there are three kinds of hyenas, only spotted hyenas have a call that sounds like they are laughing. They make that sound when they are excited or nervous. Spotted hyenas make other sounds, too: squealing and groaning to greet each other and “whoop” to call over long distances. It is exciting to hear the "whoops" of hyenas at night, while being on safari.
