I took this photo of the crescent moon with my phone through my 12" dobsonian eyepiece .... Tonight ... the Geminid Meteor Shower.... the only meteor shower from remnants on an asteroid ... Phaethon 3200 .. they travel slower at about 175,000 miles per second because they are denser and larger at about 3gm/cc as opposed to .3gm/cc .... the waxing gibbous moon sets at 3:19 am, however, because of their density they will be visible in the moonlight... and don't forget Comet LEONARD visible with the naked eye right after sunset beneath Venus on Friday, December 17th check it out because it will not make its way back here for another 70,000 years ... Happy Stargazing ... :-) ♡
