Sometimes, you need to take a bold step and start afresh to truly grow. Let me share my story.
In 2021 , I started a lifestyle page, because I wanted something that could compliment my fashion business perfectly. I gave it my all for a whole year, trying every strategy I could think of—but nothing worked. I was struggling to hit 1k followers on a page that already had 700 followers . 😢
Meanwhile, deep down, I’ve always felt that strong urge to showcase the culture, food, and people of Northern Nigeria , the world needs to discover them cos they were just too amazing. But unsure how to relate that to my fashion business and the fashion page.
One day, a thought crossed my mind: ‘Why not try sharing this passion on a different page?’ I prayed and sought guidance, and I felt convinced to start this new journey in December 2022. ( I remember me praying telling God that -if he’s sure about this then let me see a sign-someone should pay me for something).
Just one month after launching the page, I got my first paid deal (not a big pay though 💃) to advertise a restaurant. That’s when I realized: this is where I belong.lol.. From that moment on, this page has not only brought me joy, but it’s also made me more money than any business I’ve ever done in the past.
Imagine if I hadn’t taken that turn of faith. Imagine if I had stayed stuck in my old ways. Starting afresh was the best decision I’ve ever made, and I want to encourage you: if something isn’t working, don’t be afraid to take a break to restrategize or take another part . Your breakthrough might be waiting on the other side of a bold step.
