1. Hospitality First
- Guests are honored with the best seats (often farthest from the door).
- "Hoş keldiñiz!"(Welcome!) is common. Hosts may insist you eat more as a sign of affection – politely accept or leave a small bite to avoid offense.

2. Halal Practices
- Most families observe halal dietary rules. Never bring alcohol or pork unless confirmed acceptable.
- Meals often start with a prayer.

3. Communal Dining Style
- Food is shared centrally. Do not reach across others – pass dishes or ask for items nearby.
- Bread is sacred: Place flatbread (nang) upright or on a clean cloth; never upside-down or thrown. Tear it by hand – never cut with a knife!

4. Handwashing Ritual
- A host may pour water from a pitcher (aptawa) over your hands before/after eating. Hold hands low; dry with provided towels.

5. Respectful Eating
- Use your right hand for eating pilaf ,kebabs, or bread. Left hand is considered unclean.
- For soup/noodles, spoons/chopsticks are fine.
- Finish your plate: Leaving food may imply it was unsatisfactory.

6. Tea Culture
- Tea is constantly refilled. Place your hand over the cup to politely decline.
